Taipei, Feb. 17 (CNA) Twenty-six people suffered minor injuries when two tour buses carrying Chinese visitors crashed head-on at a low speed in Kenting, Taiwan's southernmost tip, Tuesday.
Police said a bus carrying tourists from China's Henan Province was about to leave the Maobitou Scenic Area parking lot at 3:05 p.m. when it hit an incoming bus carrying a group from Beijing.
Both vehicles' windshields crumbled inward, and the Taiwanese driver and tour guide along with 24 Chinese passengers suffered cuts and bruises, Pingtung County police said.
One passenger was rushed to the hospital after losing consciousness due to the strong impact but has since recovered, police said.
The two drivers showed no signs of intoxication, police said, adding that the exact cause of the accident is being investigated.
