You provided a good analysis of the Western Sinkieland. To win a GRC is very difficult and only Mr Low TK did it after 20 years in Hougang.

All depending on sinkie livelihoods after 2015 till the next one, if sinkies live a reasonable good life then the new coalition has no chance of winning any wards :frown:

Try single wards like Potong Pasir, Bukit Batok and Bukit Panjang. A big swing of say 6,000 votes will be enough for the new coalition to cross the 50% mark hence winning a single seat :smile:

Using all the financial resources for contesting a GRC into a single ward will have impact too, it’s still the money who make the sinkie life better and more affordable living. The best is don’t talk too much about democracy.

The main challenges is for them to win one seat. Failing to do so, this new coalition is consider as unsuccessful :ninja:

SDP lost Bukit Gombak and Nee Soon Central in 1997 until today they never recovered. The 2 seats were gone forever.

So oppositions must convince sinkies that they are the right choice to serve them in both local and national levels.

I remembered Mr Chiam also started with Potong Pasir in 1984 before winning 2 more seats in 1991.

But why should WP joins? It just like if you are a B grader, would you want to form a school project team with the bunch of F graders? This is not arrogance but realism.

It going to fail with or without WP. Only difference is whether entire opposition sink together or spare WP from it.

Those dud oppies can form a coalition for all they want since they are in the same league. So there is a basis to work together. I just don't see how WP can fit in.

Tcb willingness to work with them is a surprise.

It better for tcb to start his own party and focus his effort in the west where his powerbase was. At this points WP has it focus in the east and will not have much resource to extend westward. This together with tch standing provides the basis for 2 parties to cooperate.

Forget about those 3rd rated oppositions who are just out to forge an alliance of convenience. Whether it WP joining or tcb leading, they are just riding on the coattails of others and unneceassary burdens. It not going to be sustainable and will only end up like another SDA.

Without the extensive support of the grassroots leaders and NTUC, bock is nothing. Bock is too arrogant to think that he won be landslides due to his own efforts and personal popularity.
