Community bonding is an important factor in nation building.
That was Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's key message at the People's Association's 50th anniversary celebrations in Ang Mo Kio on Saturday (September 18th). And he's using Facebook to do it.
Launching the Ang Mo Kio-Yio Chu Kang GRC Facebook page as part of the celebrations, PM Lee even posted a comment on the wall urging the public to participate and post on the group's wall as well.
The page also features an exhibition showcasing the unique features and transformation of the seven estates in Ang Mo Kio-Yio Chu Kang GRC over the years.
As he joined Teck Ghee residents in their Mid Autumn celebrations, PM Lee warned Singaporeans not to be complacent about community cohesion.
"We look forward to the next year and years after that, but at the same time we must ask ourselves what can go wrong and how can we make sure we do well. And one of the key ways is for all of us to work together and feel for one another as one Teck Ghee, one Ang Mo Kio, one Singapore," PM Lee stressed.
