THE Commissioner of Charities has questioned City Harvest Church (CHC) about its $310 million stake in Suntec Singapore.
The 33,000-strong megachurch announced two weeks ago that it had become a co-owner of the downtown commercial property, which houses a convention and exhibition centre.
The complex's full name is Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

i wait for the days when NCC or CHC bought over the CASINOS resorts and kick those sinners out and convert it into the biggest church in the world...LOL!

i will be happy to donate to such causes!!

Why buy just to kill the golden goose..Buy both casino and gelyang red light and allow the trade to flourish. What your church need to do is just built a small altar with confession room beside those two places.

Another charade to wayang to the peasants

Case will be classified as NFA........ CHC got "back mountain" who is more powerful than the Commissioner of Charities

Same like the previous audit done after the NKF case........ irregularities were discovered but now case closed after intervention by "BM".

Botak monk should have gotten "BM" as his patron then he would not have to go to jail.

check the registry of society and see who really owns the organisation of CHC.

so in reality, the owner of the CHC organisation own the building, suntec properties etc..

and they have been the pipe piper toward its 33,000 members fleecing them of their $$ for their own wealth.

It is simply a matter of promoting, marketing and selling a product/commodity to a target niche by subscription.

Commercially speaking, that product/commodity is belief (a specific belief system). As long as there is a demand (suckers?) for the product/commodity, it is easy for any person with determination to capitalise on and profit from it in a big way.

310 million is a lot of money for a church organisation. Makes you wonder if the church goers still next to pay tithes every sunday.

Hello ! The tithes that CHC received per month is peanuts, okay ?

Most of the $310 million comes from Pop Superstar Sun Ho's World Concert Series ticket sales and chart-topping album sales.

I remember CHC collect more than 10% tithe; citing some old testament about giving additional 3% or something for musicians to "make music to God"

Beyond tithing, CHC also collects pledges (like for building church, buying sites, love gift and donations during services.

With people like Elim Chew and Jack Neo (who purportedly gave $18k/mth), it'll probably take them less than a year to raise $330 million.

I wonder if they open their books. It'll be interesting to see how much the pastors are paying themselves to "give up potentially successful careers to serve God".
