Casinos fined for breaching social safeguard requirements

SINGAPORE: Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa have been fined S$357,500 and S$140,000 respectively for breaching social safeguard requirements from May to October last year.
In addition, RWS has been censured for three cases of similar breaches during the period and MBS censured for failing to display appropriate messages on its progressive jackpot system on October 18, 2011.
The Casino Regulatory Authority of Singapore said the social safeguard requirements are put in place to contain and control the potential harm of casino gambling to society.
