Can someone enlighten me the BIG PICTURE why this connection was built?
What larger scheme in the transport system does this connection play?

I just like to know and am curious.

Motorists, especially residents in the Bedok North Estate, will be able to enjoy a direct and faster connection between Bedok North Avenue 3 and the PIE.

The new interchange will also serve as an alternative to the two existing interchanges with the PIE at Bedok North and Simei.

Bedok North Avenue 3 has also been widened from two lanes to three lanes in both directions.

many new residential buildings constructed over the last 10-15 years near the new exit, and all would be jamming the bedok reservoir/nth exit if without the new one

These LTA idiots should have done it 20 years ago if they are so smart to have foresight. Its more like a relief valve for the PIE for that sector. Taxpayer pay them high salaries and it take them so long to realise the impact of not building this connection.

Anyone who had been caught in a jam stretching from Simei to Eunos before will know the frustration one goes thru. Its like a block artery with no relief at that time;once it build up we screwed. There was once a 2 hour standstill where the tailback reached Tampinese side; all because the accident happened before the eunos exit.
