agreed or not, I am happy to discuss and clarify. At the end of the day, even if I am wrong, I at least learn another's point of view which is fine by me. Not everyone likes to eat the same food, why should we all have to have the same opinion?

don't get me started on the Iraq and Afghanistan episodes. I literally stopped talking to people to this day because they blindly supported those godforsaken invasions.

When those invasions happened, I was one of those who was vocally opposed. I was deeply shocked that no one I knew supported my point of view. Almost to the last man everyone I knew in sinkieland supported the moves. The only people who were in my camp were those "no blood for oil" protestors in the US. What got me even more upset was watching Tony Blair strongly supporting President Cheney and his puppet Bush because of "evidence" which to this day has not seen the light of day. I'm still trying to understand how people can willingly follow others without solid reason and without evidence.

Ok. Maybe this is where you and I miss each other. I think it's where we draw the line. When Cheney and company was looking for power at the expense of ME and American lives I was not in support. Similarly, I am not in support of Xi and his cronies enriching themselves at the expense of the Chinese lower classes. I also do not support forcing people to be under a regime that they don't wish to be under. To use a familiar analogy. If a son no longer wishes to be part of the family, is any and all force justifiable? I think not. Better to let the guy go.

But that's my opinion. You and may have an entirely different one.

I do not support the use of force, fear, coercion and manipulation to continue a relationship. The relationship is either all willing parties or to me it's a farce of a relationship. As an example, if China has to invade Taiwan and subjugate most of it's citizens to "be united", I find that perverse. Again to use an analogy, if a wife wants to leave a husband for whatever reason do you incarcerate her and rape her until she totally belongs to you? Or if you prefer, if a son wishes to leave the family, do you lock them up and not allow anyone to talk to them and beat them until they rejoin you?

Can't support it.
well said and well argued ,pal

the Iraq invasion had not only destroyed and entire culture ,community and it's people ...it had also looted historical treasures that remained thousands of years too ...all for what?

its agonising even to think about it ..than its Syria now or even Lebanon or Libya in the past ...as the British use to say ,give a dog a bad name than hang him

that's why I quoted the story of a 14 year old questioning an elderly on knowledge of life or real world

how much do you know of the real world ?

my position is the more I know the less i become ..like a boy picking pebbles in front of vast ocean, unable to fathom its depth nor unable to fathom him very self

i would stop preaching, if I were you
Peace. Out.

Pompeo demands China reveal whereabouts of Tibet's Panchen Lama
Top US diplomat's call comes 25 years after six-year-old monk was seized and has since never been seen in public.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday demanded that China reveal "immediately" the whereabouts of the Panchen Lama chosen by the Dalai Lama, 25 years after the six-year-old was seized.
The Dalai Lama, who lives in exile in India and enjoys a wide global following, on May 14, 1995, identified Gedhun Choekyi Nyima as the reincarnation of the Panchen Lama, the second most senior figure in Tibetan Buddhism's largest school.

he boy was taken into custody three days later and has not been seen since, with human rights groups calling him the world's youngest political prisoner.

China must provide verifiable information on the wellbeing and whereabouts of the 11th Panchen Lama.

Tibetan Buddhists, like members of all faith communities, must be able to select, educate and venerate their religious leaders according to their traditions and without government interference," Pompeo said in a statement.

"We call on the PRC government to immediately make public the Panchen Lama's whereabouts and to uphold its own constitution and international commitments to promote religious freedom for all persons."

China appointed its own Panchen Lama, who has made a number of tightly scripted public appearances, even though many Tibetans do not recognise him.

Whereabouts of Panchen Lama
On Sunday, Tibet's parliament-in-exile called on Beijing to confirm the "well-being and whereabouts" of the Panchen Lama.

"China must provide verifiable information on the wellbeing and whereabouts of the 11th Panchen Lama," the Tibetan parliament-in-exile, which is based in Dharamsala in the foothills of the Indian Himalaya, said in a statement.

The disappearance of the Panchen Lama is not only an injustice to one person, but it is an injustice to six million Tibetans and their right to religious freedom."

The Dalai Lama has made India his home since fleeing Tibet in 1959 and resides in Dharamsala in the north of the country. The Tibetan spiritual leader has said China had been trying to interfere in his succession and split Tibetan Buddhism.

In February, he marked the 80th anniversary of his enthronement as the spiritual leader of Tibet, a position held almost entirely in exile and as a target of constant vilification by the Chinese state.

Sam Brownback, the US ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom, last week warned that Beijing should not see the Panchen Lama episode as a model for the Dalai Lama's reincarnation.

China's officially atheist government has made clear it could seek to name a successor to the 84-year-old Dalai Lama, whose charisma has brought global attention to Tibet for decades.

In a rare statement on the Dalai Lama-appointed Panchen Lama, a pro-Beijing official in Tibet said in 2015 the young man was healthy, enjoying an education and "does not want to be disturbed".

Don't forget to ask about the whereabouts of the fat jiuhu kia Jho Low. He is a huge piece of the puzzle regarding 1MDB and OBOR. SG could be involved too.

Malaysia 1MDB fugitive Jho Low spotted in Wuhan: Police

KUALA LUMPUR: A fugitive Malaysian financier wanted over a massive graft scandal has been spotted in the city at the centre of the coronavirus outbreak, police said, although it was unclear if he had left before Chinese authorities imposed a lockdown.

Low Taek Jho - commonly known as Jho Low - is accused of playing a major role in plundering billions of dollars from sovereign wealth fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

Looted money was used to buy everything from a super-yacht to art, in a fraud that allegedly involved former leader Najib Razak and contributed to his government's downfall in 2018.

Low, who denies any wrongdoing, has long been on the run and is often rumoured to be in China.

"Previously, we received intelligence that he was active in Wuhan," national police chief Abdul Hamid Bador told a press conference late Wednesday (Feb 19), referring to the city at the centre of the outbreak.

He said authorities had no information on whether Low had fled the city since the start of the outbreak, but added he would be screened by airport staff if he were to arrive in the country.

Wuhan is the capital of Hubei province, where the virus is believed to have emerged in December. The pathogen has killed more than 2,100 people and infected tens of thousands in China and spread to dozens of other countries.

Abdul Hamid also joked that Low should return to Malaysia if he has contracted the virus, "because our health facilities are the best ... We will give him the best treatment".
