BN wrests Perak state from PR

Dear All,

The ruling BN has sought an audience with the ruler of Perak to seek the appointment of a BN chosen Chief Minister.

As of now, the state assembly seats are PR 28, BN 28 and 3 independents.

The independents were formerly PKR members who have effectively defected and have claimed to be agreeable with the BN.

The ruler in excercising his royal prerogative may dissolve the assembly and call for new elections. The ruler has however asked for a show of support from all members that the BN claims it has in its fold and to seek an audience before he decides to accept the appointment of a new CM.

Meanwhile, the PR has filed for a motion in court, this is to reverse the Elections Dept's refusal to accept the dissolution of the assembly prior to the news of the defection.

Allegations that the 3 defectors were in fact people under probe for corruption, and in exchange of their cases to be dropped were asked to defect.

This is all that is available for now.

Cheers,

MentisMortis

Thanks for the update. It seems that Najib got something up his sleeves afterall. I have been wondering what he is up to since they suffered losses. Every politican has a weakness, and it is up to the opposition to exploit and use it.

Dear NY88,

When all else fails I guess stooping to underhanded and illegal means is not too far fetched for Najib.

He has so often talked about illegal means of wresting power from BN by the PR but now he has done the same.

Many are hoping that the Sultan dissolves the assembly and calls for new elections as this would really show how much the people dislike and have moved away from BN and UMNO.

Anyway this is more interesting than barking mice and and U-turns on policies not properly thought out.

I guess he is a better chess player than Anwar for now, but the game is not over, it's only check not yet checkmate.

Cheers,

MM

MM, BN has retaken the state.

Dear KK,

No not yet, the Sultan needs to appoint the CM form the ruling party as long as he does not BN cannot be considered to have retaken Perak.

As long as the procedures of appointment and swearing in are not held PR is still effectively the state govt.

It may well be a sure thing but you'll never know.

Cheers,

MM

Dear KK

Live by the sword, die by the sword the PKR is equally guilty of trying to tempt over BN politicians in Sabah and Sarawak. That is how the game is played on both sides

Hehehe, you are right, it is only the begining. We will see more "buying votes" and negative news in time to come.

It will be a show for all to see. Najib taking over Smiling tiger in April right? Lets see what he will do to hold BN in power. If BN loses in a election, LKY will fear. For that is what happens when people gets too angry.
