"Shin Ming Daily" previously reported that Hu Xiuhui rushed into the fire on February 13 last year to save her fiancé in a fatal car accident in Tanjong Pagar and suffered severe burns.
During her stay in the burn ward of the Central Hospital, she met Hossain Jitu (33 years old) in the next room. Jitu was one of the injured migrant workers in the explosion at the Tuas factory on February 24 last year. The accident resulted in three deaths and seven injuries. Since Hu Xiuhui was seriously injured at the time, she could only lie in the hospital bed every day. Jitu would greet her when she passed by her ward, cheer her on, and warm her heart.
Hu Xiuhui said in an interview that during her hospitalization, her mother brought food to visit every day, and sometimes bought some cakes for Jitu. Jitu exchanged contact information with her on the day she was discharged from the hospital, and the two kept in touch afterwards. Recently, Jitu said that she was about to return to Bangladesh, so she invited him to eat at home to practice for him.
Hu Xiuhui said that they ate pizza at home the day before yesterday (May 11), and they also talked about the recovery of burns. Everyone had a very pleasant chat. "Jitu also told me that he likes Singapore very much and hopes to come back to work, but he may not be able to get a work visa, so he plans to go back to Bangladesh to do some small business first."

Hu Xiuhui also revealed that she is recovering well, but she has to undergo several minor surgeries this year, so she does not plan to make a comeback in July this year.

The foreign worker suffered 54% burns all over his body. Hu Xiuhui said that Jitu is still waiting for the company to book a flight ticket for him to return to Bangladesh. His injury does not affect his physical function, and his hands and feet are also fine, and he can work normally after returning to his hometown.
She also joked: "Actually, my injury is more serious than his, and he is fine."
