Some 81 per cent of Singaporeans say "being a good spouse" is one of their top priorities, research by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) has found.

In a survey of 2,000 Singaporeans of different marital statuses last year, 84 per cent of married respondents also said they were satisfied with their marriages.

MSF Parliamentary Secretary Low Yen Ling said on Friday: "It's great to know that Singaporeans not only value marriages, they also wish to be good spouses."

She was speaking at the opening session of the Marriage Convention, which was launched by Families for Life - formerly known as the National Family Council.

With those people and organizations involved in the 'survey', do you honestly think they wouldn't skew the values and methodology to make their findings conform to their agenda? Family values are strong in Singapore, people are pro-marriage, divorce rate is low etc.

This is like Shell or Exxon Mobil commissioning an in-house study which finds out that the oil industry is making the environment cleaner and greener.
