The writer feel that generally Sinkie lack of a thankful heart, as the Public Transport Provider already automatic lower the fee, you all still not satisfy, asking for more.
Do you know the high risks Public Transport Providers have to bear? Do you know that the service of our MRT and Bus is nothing inferior compare to advance countries like Japan, U.K. and France? Yet our transport fare is so much cheaper!
Comparing to India and S E Asia, the fare we paid for is value for money.
During this economy crisis, yet so many of you can afford to travel overseas, you have money to take airplane, so pls don't complain MRT and Bus company charges is high, should not expect Govt to give more rebate and financial aid, our govt already done more than enough compare to other govt, yet you all still non stop criticize.
I suggest that those who always like to complain, go and stay in the country side of Vietnam or India, so that you can learn to be grateful.

公共交通业者主动降低地铁与巴士车资,国人却普遍采取负面的反应,我深感痛心。有关业者宣布将在4月1日下调车资的细节公布后,笔者就不断听到诸多对巴士与地铁业者的批评之声,认为业者缺乏诚意,不够大方,给予的回扣微不足道,甚至认定业者增加转车回扣是要诱使人们掉入“转车”陷阱,以付出更多的车资。林林总总的民众言论都反映了新加坡人普遍上缺乏感恩之心。
公共交通业不但投资额大,风险也不小,而且还得应付复杂的人事问题,也不时得面对油价波动的成本压力。绝不是局外人所想的稳赚不赔的好生意。因此,人们不应不切实际地要求巴士与地铁业者作出不合理的车资调整,不能因为它属于基本公用服务性质的行业就要求业者做亏本生意或只能赚个绳头小利。
就当前的巴士与地铁之服务水平来说,其车资已经是很低廉的了。与先进国家如日本、英国与法国相比,我国的地铁服务并不明显逊色,但是车资却相对低很多。难道国人要的是印度水平的巴士服务吗?至今在印度城市里川行的主要仍是老旧的巴士车,又吵又热。在东南亚各国当中,新加坡拥有更高水平的公共交通服务已经是不争的事实,以当前的车资水平有这样的服务水平已经算得上是物超所值了。
尽管目前我国面临严重的经济衰退,但是旅游配套这种奢侈品还是大卖,这反映了新加坡人的实际生活并不是一般民众口中所讲的那样难过。既然有钱坐飞机出游,就不应批评巴士或地铁车资令他们吃不消。更不应要求政府给予更多财政援助与更大的回扣。事实上政府已经在这次的经济衰退做了很多事,比起许多政府是有过之而无不及,但是批评之声仍不断。
笔者建议凡事批评的国人到印度、越南的乡下或小城镇住上个把月以便学习感恩之心。
