You forgot that pure socialist fundamentals are namely Liberté, égalité, fraternité adopt for the French Revolution later followed by eastern European countries & now the defunct Soviet Union. These were tried & many had failed miserably.
This must bring back memories to MM. Thanks to him man, he took the blame so that I have a good life. But he is also having a King's life. So gratitude aside, think on Today, no room for emotions.

A 'BOYFRIEND-GIRLFRIEND' relationship - that was how Singapore Democratic Alliance (SDA) secretary-general Desmond Lim described its newly forged ties with the Socialist Front (SF) on Wednesday.

The SF, set up last year, will not join the SDA, but both parties have agreed on a 'close working relationship', said Mr Lim.

SF chairman Ng Teck Siong said it was important that opposition parties cooperate and 'show we are united. We want to have a good relationship with the SDA'.

The arrangement will see both sides share resources and manpower. The SF will 'loan' members to the alliance to stand as candidates in group representation constituencies (GRCs) under the SDA flag.

Under an agreement with the SDA made earlier this week, these SF members will rejoin the party if their GRC team is unsuccessful at the polls, Mr Ng said.

The first to cross to the SDA yesterday was factory consultant and SF central executive committee member Ng Pian Ying, 65. He was the only representative from his party to turn up at an SDA press conference to announce its first batch of candidates for the next general election.

Contacted last night, Mr Ng Teck Siong explained why the SF opted for a loan arrangement rather than join the SDA as a component party.

The SDA has two component parties - the Singapore Malay National Organisation and the Singapore Justice Party.

He told The Straits Times: 'We are a new party and need time to consider our options. We are not ready to formally join them.'

He added that he did not think the arrangement would confuse voters: 'They will see it as opposition unity and they will have a better impression of the opposition and trust us more.'
