SINGAPORE — Two Chinese men have been arrested for their suspected involvement in stealing casino chips from the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) casino.
Officers from the Casino Crime Investigation Branch (CCIB) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) responded to MBS casino after police were alerted to a case of theft there.
The suspects, aged 36 and 40, were placed under arrest by the officers and preliminary investigations revealed that they were believed to have stolen nearly S$60,000 in casino chips, said the police in a press release.
The suspects will be charged tomorrow for the offence of Theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, they may be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or fine or to both.
