PHUKET, Thailand -- Singapore-based Banyan Group is planning to split its hotel and property development segments into separate companies, its founder.

They have too much debts to refinance, now debts is larger than their market cap. Breaking up the company can avoid contagion and pulling the healthier business divisions down.
