在新竹市中心的文福機車行,佔據街邊小小一方店面,66歲的陳老闆是第二代,從學徒開始已經做了近50年,三個兒子都在當老師,沒打算接班。談到電動機車,他認為不會影響機車行的生意。然而,電動車維修跟傳統燃油車不大同,一般機車行很難介入,儘管電動機車市佔率目前僅1成,卻會在未來20年內,影響全台2.8萬家街頭巷尾、大大小小機車行的生計問題。

被稱為「機車王國」的台灣,機車數量超過1300萬輛。「機車瀑布」從台北橋傾瀉而下的畫面,已成為台灣的另類正字標記。去年10月,電動機車品牌睿能創意號召1300名Gogoro車主集結在台北橋,以「電動機車瀑布」締造金氏世界紀錄,似乎揭示了一個新時代的到來。
在政府強力補助以及業者積極促銷下,電動機車銷量節節攀升,去年賣出近9萬輛,是前年銷量的2倍,佔整體機車銷售已約1成。
面對這改變的趨勢,在中壢市區開店30年的機車商業同業公會理事長張慶寶,不像新竹陳老闆如此樂觀。
「其實我早就感覺到,電動車是未來世界的趨勢,」張慶寶說,他20年前就在日本車展看過電動機車概念車,後來又在舊金山看到輕軌電車四處跑,慢慢感受到電車將會是都市移動的未來。
未來,已經在不遠處。政府為了對抗空污,宣示在2035年,所有新售機車都將電動化,距今已經不到16年,這不僅是對車廠的挑戰,對全台2.8萬家幾乎全是中小企業的機車行與數萬名從業人口來說,是更艱鉅的轉型任務。
老車行進軍電動機車,並不容易
修車向來被認為是「黑手」工作,到黑黑髒髒的機車行換機油、換齒輪油、修火星塞,是許多人生活的一部份。
但電動機車的維修,邏輯截然不同。
張慶寶解釋,引擎的學問很大,當學徒至少要3年半才能學會處理引擎的大小問題,老師傅的經驗更是要花時間累積,例如聽引擎怪聲、感覺抖動異常來判斷車子的問題。
「但電動機車就像是3C產品,接上電腦診斷就知道問題在哪,壞掉了就換零件,」張慶寶說,電動機車維修保養,不僅在程序上與油車不同,一般修車行能介入的空間也更少。
但他看到這是必然的發展方向。「如果不學的話,將來怎麼賣車?」張慶寶說,很多知識要打掉重來。
如今他的兒子共同經營車行,因為屬於光陽體系,他也去上過幾次關於電動機車Ionex系統的訓練,地區經銷商幾乎每個月都開課。
除了訓練,服務也要升級。張慶寶說,以往交車只要給鑰匙發動就好,現在電動機車的交車要半個小時以上。從下載app、連線、電池取出、充電,到使用店頭的快充站,每個步驟都要清楚講解。
但並非人人都像張慶寶有資源投入學習。
3到5年內,黑手店將慢慢消失
他坦承,自行開業,不屬於車廠經銷體系的黑手店,又沒參加公會的話,這些業者是會受到衝擊最大的。以張慶寶的觀察,在80年代經濟發展高峰期,機車行隨便開隨便賺,但這些人現在年紀大了,二代也沒興趣經營。
他形容,典型的黑手店樣貌就是:70幾歲的老師傅坐在店裡,燈也捨不得開,空間陰暗潮濕,客人到門口還會問說,「師傅有在嗎?」根本不知道有沒有在做生意。
這樣的店家,因為跟品牌的合作關係薄弱,很多業主無力再投資、學習新技能,可能就慢慢自然淘汰。
機車公會和車廠持續對機車行業者做轉型升級的訓練,經濟部工業局也正在研擬轉型補助辦法,然而最需要輔導的業者,就是這些黑手店。張慶寶說,這很現實,如果沒有特殊的經營理念,又無法販賣或維修電動機車,3到5年內,這些店可能就會慢慢被淘汰。……(完整報導,請見《天下雜誌》第668期)

Under the strong government subsidies and the active promotion of the industry, the sales of electric motor vehicles increased steadily. Last year, nearly 90,000 units were sold, which was twice the sales volume of the previous year, accounting for about 10% of the total locomotive sales.

Faced with this changing trend, Zhang Qingbao, chairman of the locomotive business association in the city of Zhongli, has not been as optimistic as Hsinchu Chen’s boss.

"In fact, I have long felt that electric vehicles are the trend of the future world," said Zhang Qingbao. He saw the electric car concept car at the Japan Auto Show 20 years ago. Later, he saw the light rail tram running around in San Francisco and slowly felt the tram. It will be the future of urban mobility.

The future is already not far away. In order to combat air pollution, the government announced that in 2035, all newly-sold locomotives will be electrified, less than 16 years ago. This is not only a challenge for the car factory, but also for the 28,000 locomotives of all small and medium-sized enterprises. For tens of thousands of employed people, it is a more difficult task of transformation.

Old car marching army electric car, not easy

Car repair has always been considered a "black hand" job. It is a part of the lives of many people to change the oil, change the gear oil and repair the spark plugs to the dark and dirty locomotives.

But the maintenance of the electric motor car is quite different.

Zhang Qingbao explained that the engine is very knowledgeable. When the apprentices have to learn to deal with the size of the engine for at least three and a half years, the experience of the master is to accumulate time, such as listening to the engine strange sounds and feeling the abnormal vibration to judge the car.

"But the electric motor car is like a 3C product. When you connect the computer to diagnose it, you know where the problem is. If you break it, you can change the part." Zhang Qingbao said that the maintenance and repair of the electric motor car is not only different from the oil car in the program, but the general car repair line can There is also less room for intervention.

But he saw that this is an inevitable development direction. "If you don't learn, how can you sell a car in the future?" Zhang Qingbao said that a lot of knowledge has to be reinstated.

Nowadays his son runs a car dealership. Because of his Gwangyang system, he has also gone through several trainings on the electric car Ionex system. Regional dealers start classes almost every month.

In addition to training, the service has to be upgraded. Zhang Qingbao said that in the past, it was only necessary to send the keys to the car. Now it takes more than half an hour to deliver the electric car. But not everyone has the resources to invest in Zhang Qingbao.

Within 3 to 5 years, the black hand shop will slowly disappear

He admits that if they open their own businesses and do not belong to the black-hand shop of the dealership distribution system, and they do not participate in the guild, these operators will be the most affected. According to Zhang Qingbao's observation, during the peak of economic development in the 1980s, locomotives casually made a profit, but these people are now older and the second generation is not interested in operating.
