A construction worker died yesterday (15 Mar), after suffering from a severe stomach ache.

The 42-year-old Indian worker had complained of abdominal pains at about 10am while working at a construction site near Tampines Central.

He passed away on the way to the hospital, leaving behind a wife and three children aged 10, 7 and 5.

A manager from the construction company told reporters that the deceased had come to work in Singapore more than ten years ago and had travelled back home for a visit just last year.

The company manager, as well as workers, also revealed that this was not the first death they had witnessed.

Two other workers in the company had also died a few months ago.

One worker had died in July last year, after suffering serious head injuries in a car accident that took place along Serangoon Road near Dickson Road.

Another worker had drowned in Bedok Reservoir on 8 October last year and his body was found two days later in the reservoir waters.
