Never ever feel sorry for the WP. They are a bunch of selfish people, who aspire only to support the pap to suppress the people. They have never declared that they are prepared to fight to remove the pap. At best, as only a co-driver. They are so proud of themselves that they do not cooperate with other opposition party or parties. Let the pap expose them for what they truly are .... spineless collaborators with the pap. Now their masters turn against them in public ... shamed. They never even raise the AIM issue even though they were directly involved. Just hope that they get kicked out of parliament. Given all the policy errors, it is 99% certain that the PAP will fall from power in 2021/2022.
The WP led coalition which takes power will have at best 2 election cycles to meet the aspirations of Singaporeans who voted for them. The probability of WP being able to do this appears to be very low given the immense problems that the PAP will be leaving behind. Recent events also show that once they have attained power, WP is just as vulnerable to temptation as the PAP.
Hence while the PAP will fall from power, there is an equally high chance that they will return to power in 2031/32. From this point forth, Singapore will then likely have a 2 party system with alternate PAP/WP governments.

When we were poor and need rapid progress, one party iron grid was seen acceptable (in the past 40 years). In which riches, well-connected and elites were recipients of the one party system.
When we grow and become rich nation, two or more parties are good for citizens that they would try very hard for the welfare. In which the above groups have to share their wealth with others.
Good to have two strong parties vying for votes.
