Actually Spore companies are already giving preference to some parties, however it is along family ties & personal friendships. LKY looked after his clan & family friends very well but if you are an outsider, i.e. "a lesser mortal" then you are out of luck

They already control the "lesser mortals" so why bother rewarding them for doing a good job

On the other hand they can't control foreigners & must offer them $$$. Foreigners are mercenary & all they care about is $$$. Once they have done their job the will "balek kampong" & not stick around to upset the status quo.

I think LHL made a mistake by importing too many foreigners & allowing them citizenship. While most will move on, there will be some who will stick around & upset the famiLee interests

Singapore and Asian companies are notorious for giving jobs to their own family members, clans people, same village etc. That is why the Ang Mos began playing this game. Back home they can't get away with it.

The Government however opened the flood gates thinking that they will get quality but it tuned out that these foreigners in many cases were under qualified or poor performers. Singapore clubs such as SRC, Singapore Swimming Club in the recreation front went thru various Ang Mos at CEO who failed miserably, brought their friends in with CVs that was not true. Even Cisco had a unit that was made of Australians who were drinking buddies and the management was truly hoodwinked.

In Australia, the respective trade or vocation rep must validate an migrants coming thru any of the occupational category to ensure that they must meet standards. We have none of that.
