It tells the same thing - you still have a chip over your shoulder about your educational qualification. Get over it and just do your best. Pointless harping about NUS, local education etc its a lost cause.

Sorry to disappoint you.. Stop making unsupported assumptions

I graduated from NUS and have a Masters from a top US Uni..

I am thankful for the cheap education NUS gave me.. but it is seriously a weak University for all the Billions of tax money poured into it.. Why not you tell us your viewpoints then? Do you begrudge every ex-Singaporeans who have migrated overseas based on merit and enjoy a top standard of living and educated well by top western school?

What does this tell you about the China Civilization?

What a shame!

We Chinese must buck up!

A new Nobel prize category is being introduced next year for research in the field of copyright violation, hacking and fake goods production.

The Chinese will win hands down for sure.

Do you know that Holland, a small European nation of 15 m people, produce more Nobel Prize winners than China/Japan/Korea combined?

I can tell you that there are many geniuses in China

The only problem is that they can only solve superficial problems but not lead innovation and research into an uncharted area.

What a big waste. They need to relook into how they develop their people.

SG is still the most successful chinese managed country in the world

That's a fact

As for wages, it has got to do with the fact that state-owned companies make up the bulk of our economy

This strait jacketed mental patient has been at the brunt of so much racism in the US he is even beginning to believe it is true.

Quick, someone give him a jab! Nurse!

Maybe it is because the Nobel prize is European in origin, that is why Western countries tend to win it more often?

How many European judges can read theses written in Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, or Japanese?

Conversely speaking, how many Westerners win Chinese awards?

To get Nobel prize you needs lots of $$$. You need to belong to research institute that can fund your research. Up till 5 years ago, China did not have this type of money to spend on research.

However, going forward, I would not be surprised to see more Chinese $ doing such research.

Talent flows to where the money and opportunity is.

That is all there is.

/QUOTE]

But if you look at the Shaw Prize (Nobel of the East, est in Hong Kong) given to outstanding contribution in mathematics and astronomy, most of the winners are also western scientists.

They are not even Chinese. Most of them are Americans who don't even speak Chinese or know much about the Chinese culture in China. One of them is even in the American cabinet as a minister and wouldn't hesitate to nuke China if they invaded the US.

The strait jacketed retard who started this post from his hospital after a jab of antipsychotic medication is just a lunatic troll.

Obviously NUS in international ratings are questionable. I hope you don't believe that bullshit. Can I make another unsupported assumption - you did not name the "top" US Uni unlike NUS because you may not be able to answer questions related to it if some forummers who actually attended it asked you.

The point is your constant hang-up about education. Education is a stepping stone. Its what you make out of it. Your constant obsession tells me that something is clearly amiss.

Its good lesson for you. Hopefully you stop regurgitating rubbish that you put together by surfing the net. There will be someone who will eventually catch you out.

Note you were posting for a very long time but I had not engaged you as I thought it was an error or the wrong interpretation until you became bold and then I realised you had no clue what you were talking about. I then realised that you wanted to contribute at a level that you could not reach. Note how both of you ended up in the same zone. Its about education and knowledge. Something that you are both are struggling with.

you can't say u go way off topic and talk about something that have no relations to the thread, instead it's good lesson for me.

note. you never reply directly to what other wrote but make wild assumptions.
that's why you are a lanchio lang.
