I would like to tell the boys and girls of Singapore sitting for the PSLE, the first "big exam" of your lives: Get plenty of rest and do not worry overly much about how you will do over the coming five days of written examinations. The important thing to tell yourself is that you will keep studying hard even after the exams are over, no matter how well or poorly you did.
There was a man named Confucius in ancient China who lived to be a great teacher. For centuries, examinations in China were mostly about what Confucius had to teach us. But did you know that Confucius wrote that he only began to dedicate himself to his studies at the age of 15? That's three years older than most of you. So if you have been studying hard, you are well ahead. And if you have not, it is not too late to start, no matter what happens over the next few days

This is impressive GRC TC. I thot LKY said oppo don't know how to run even SMC TC and rubbish pile up two storeys LOL Fact is PAP MP dont know how to run SMC TC. All PAP SMC longpang bigger PAP GRC TC. Only CST and LTK really run SMC TC solo before. Now LTK win GRC, he use same PAP trick to let Hougang longpang Aljunied LOL

Dear Hougang Residents,

Hougang Constituency Education Trust (HGET) was initiated by the then Member of Parliament for Hougang, Mr. Low Thia Khiang in 1992.

With the help, warm responses and generous contributions from individuals, organizing committees of Hougang Seventh-month commemoration festivities and temples, HGET bursaries are once again open for application.

Students who are Singapore citizens, residing in Hougang Constituency and who need financial assistance are eligible to apply. More details can be found in the circular, distributed to all Hougang HDB flats’ letterboxes. (Refer to the attached image). Thank you.

The Workers' Party's larger presence in the new Parliament opening on Monday will be an opportunity to showcase what the opposition can do to improve the lives of Singaporeans, party chairman Sylvia Lim said on Wednesday.
With six elected MPs and two Non-Constituency MPs (NCMPs), the party can reflect more views compared to before the May general election, she told The Straits Times in an e-mail. It then had just one elected MP and an NCMP in Parliament, so its capacity to contribute to debates 'naturally had limitations', she said.'Having more WP MPs will enable us to canvass a broader range of issues and tap on our different qualifications and life experiences. We also have a broader mandate,' she added.

Last night, in discussion about "giving back", I was asked why I chose politics from the myriad of community service possibilities.

In short my answer was --
Because our government is a big part of our lives.

How do I give back -- how can I be of service?
I asked these questions before embarking on my journey back to Singapore.

For me, the starting point has to be how do you help make people’s lives better?
We all have our ways.
I believe that particularly pertinent for Singaporeans today is to ask -- how do you help make government policies more responsive to people’s needs?

I decided I could and should step forward to serve my fellow Singaporeans.

昨晚在一场讨论会上谈到了“回报社会”，有人问我，回报社会、为<wbr>民服务的方式很多，为何最终选择了从政？
简单地概括，这是我的答案：
因为在我们的国家，政府在很大程度上主导了人民的生活。
我该如何回报社会？我还可以怎么为民服务？
在下定决心回国之前，我一再反复地思索着这些问题。
对我来说，关键的出发点是：自己可以如何协助改善人民的生活，让<wbr>大家活得更温馨愉快而有意义有尊严？
我相信今天绝大多数的新加坡人心中，总会有这么一个合理的问号：<wbr>该如何促使政府在制定政策时更体恤人民的需求，更愿意对人民的心<wbr>声作出回应？

也因此，我作出决定，相信自己有义务挺身而出，为全国人民尽一份<wbr>心力。[/h]
