PAP new face Shawn Huang clarifies online allegations over 2018 incident

People's Action Party new face Shawn Huang, 37, wrote a Facebook post on Sunday (June 28) addressing a social media post with allegations of an incident when he was National Day Parade commander in 2018.

In his post, Mr Huang, who is director for enterprise development at Temasek International and spent 19 years with the Republic of Singapore Air Force, detailed what happened and added that he was surprised at the post and "felt that it was a misunderstanding".

He has tried to contact the person who wrote the post, Mr Huang said, but it has since been removed.

"I wish her well and hope to be able to speak to her soon," he wrote.

Mr Huang's clarification comes after the withdrawal from the election yesterday of fellow PAP new face Ivan Lim following allegations online about his past behaviour.
