Empires were built on Indonesian island chains, such as the Sri Vijawa from Sumatra, eventually, empires rise & fall, more so with Sunni Arabs whom escaped from the sectarian warfare between the Shia & Sunni 7th century sectarian struggle for religion supremacy since the moment prophet Muhammad died, fled to the rich & fertile valleys of S.E Asian to start a new more peaceful life, but with globalization, such sectarian battles continues even today, whom the intelligent amongst them saw how Islam can be easily manipulated to twist minds of the naive to create new empires.
With stability seemingly achieved, China during the Ming dynasty in the 15th century ventured forth into S.E Asia, at the invitation of the impressive or at least smooth talking ruler of Malacca, & from China came vast fleets of centuries old & educated, & equally FAIR skinned maidens, scholars, troops, trader families, etc to support & maintain the peace in S. E. Asia.
Overtime, most of those inhabitants living in Indonesia turned fair skinned.
Fair skin is highly priced, but dark skin is often associated with dirt, such, sadly, is the perception of some Humankind. If skin color is such a bugbear issue, then Humanity DO have the ability to turn the skin color of Humanity to white or even any other color. It lays within the melanin cells in our DNA, which thru gene therapies, our modern advancement in Sciences would be able to perform the change.
However, with such changes, those who work in tropical latitudes with white skin WILL suffer from skin problems, & may even die, or worse - may refuse to work & thus agriculture & industries will no longer exists, the death of economies...
