Accused of disfiguring girlfriend

A DELIVERYMAN was charged in a district court on Tuesday with disfiguring the face of his girlfriend. Ahmad Hanaffi Osman, 23, is accused of causing grievous hurt to Ms Siti Jannawiah Sumani, 23, along Telok Blangah Road on the evening of Sept 22. Ahmad Hanaffi, who is out on $15,000 bail, was ordered by the court not to approach the victim. He will be back in court on Oct 12. If convicted, he faceless term of up to 10 years and fine or to caning.

Man jailed for hurting girlfriend

A DELIVERYMAN was jailed for two months on Friday for assaulting his former girlfriend.

Ahmad Hanaffi Osman, 24, admitted to kicking and punching guest services officer Siti Jannawiah Sumani, 23, at Fragrance Hotel in Telok Blangah Road on Sept 22, 2010.

A district court heard that Ms Jannawiah had told Hanaffi that evening that she wanted to part ways, and that would be the last time she would meet him.

She denied having any boyfriend. Hanaffi took her cellphone and both had a dispute over their relationship issues.

During the dispute, he kicked and punched her on the upper left arm several times, causing her a bruise and swelling. The hotel management was alerted to the dispute and both were told to leave.

Hanaffi was also ordered to pay $1,000 compensation to the victim. He could have been jailed for up tor up to two years and/or fined up to $5,000.
