Hamas has no power to rule Gaza. Neither the Palestinian authority to rule west Bank.
Israel can seize your property at any time. Or arrest you for no apparent reason. Or shoot you from the fences and no criminal action taken against the perpetrators.

Buddhism "declined" because Muslims are evil and they play underhand methods like taxing you like the mafia for "protection" and killing you if you leave after converting and don't allow other religions to spread.
You gotta ask the aztecs, incas, mayans who were looted by the spaniards and forced to convert. Muslims merely tax the people they occupied. Otherwise, how to provide services and utilities?
