$2,500 starting salary is the figure which graduates had, some 15+ years ago if I remember correctly.
It was about 22 years ago y2k fresh grad full fledged engineer starting pay 2.5k. My uncle joined the rank of full fledge engineer starting 2.5k with 5 years work experience.
