89 suspects arrested for drug offences in islandwide raids
SINGAPORE: A total of 89 suspected drug offenders were caught in a four-day islandwide operation by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), which ended on Friday.
An assortment of drugs, including about 400 grammes of heroin, was seized.
The drugs are estimated to be worth more than S$47,000.
The suspects were arrested in areas including Balestier, Bedok Reservoir, Boon Lay, Clementi, Ghim Moh, Hougang and Toa Payoh.
During one of the raids on Tuesday night near Upper Serangoon Road, CNB officers busted a suspected heroin store and arrested two men.
About 120 grammes of heroin and a small amount of “Ice” were seized from a room in the house. - CNA/xq
