A member of the pioneer generation, not computer literate, so he uses a marker to publicly support Roy, and gets charged with 18 offences. Wow. DPP must have been up many nights to come up with new and ingenious charges to arrive at the number of 18. He is just a small old unemployed garang guni ma, and DPP say "that he was likely to cause wrongful loss to Mediacorp and SP Powergrid". Hahahahhaha, such big multibillion dollars organizations like Mediacorpse and SP Powershit can suffer loss by an old man and a marker? If this old chap go around blowing up transformer stations and Mediacorpse building, than I would say that he might cause "wrongful loss". Just send an FT labourer with some soap and scruber and just clean the message off lah. How long does that take? 10 mins?

I know one 90 year old uncle, I don't know what he does. He can barely stand up, and speak, and yet the tax payers of singapore pay him over $200K a year for fuck, I don't know. he never shows up at his office to speak to his constituencies and goes for months at a stretch without being seen or heard from. Yet, he earns over $16K a month. I would have called this a "wrongful loss" to the taxpaying citizens of singapore. How come he can get away with it?

Rag-and-bone man, 71, jailed for defacing bus stop advertisement boards

SINGAPORE - A 71-year-old man was jailed for six weeks on Monday for mischief when he defaced public and private property last month. Loh Thiam Hock, unemployed, was originally charged with vandalism. He pleaded guilty to four amended charges of defacing advertisement boards at bus stops and one of defacing a transformer box on May 22. Fourteen other similar charges were taken into consideration. Loh had used an indelible black marker to write: "We support CPF Blogger, Return our CPF Money R/AC & M/AC, Above 65 yrs Bal $5000 in M/AC'', knowing that he was likely to cause wrongful loss to MediaCorp and SP PowerGrid. - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/si...op-advertisement-boards-#sthash.5SN0S2oX.dpuf

Typical misleading thread title of someone with a misplaced agenda. You'd be singing a different tune if he scribbled his "support" on your face.

The old fart isn't being jailed for supporting that gay retard. 2000 to 3000 people did the same thing publicly and none have fallen foul of the law. Many have also shown their support by donating money too. None are being sought by the police for their actions.

The old coot is being jailed for vandalism and damage to public and private property and he jolly well deserves it.

Vandalism is wrong and against the law. Doesn't make it right when supporting Ah Roy unless ah Roy is some god?

If you donate money or buy lunch for Ah Roy do you think you will be jailed? Tioh boh?

Yeah I feel like scratching my support for Roy on on the paintwork of cars belonging to members of the Roy Ngerng fan club. I'd like to see what sort of tune they'd sing then.

Both are human beings but leading different life. One uncle can do no wrong and what wrong can he do? Whatever wrongs are always right.

But the other old uncle was whacked for doing wrong. What wrong? Did he commit a serious crime? Why not probation for this old uncle? His misfortune is because he committed a wrong which is intolerable to the power that be. If he had written something else, he might not even be charged.

If in North Korea, this old uncle and all the kpkb in this forum might have been targets for the firing squad.

First one to get firing squad with be Sam Leong for owning and running such a forum that can allow criticism of the regime.

Compare and contrast the Little India rioters. First batch were given a free airline ticket and send home. So, I guess u can participate in the burning of police cars and ambulance, but no need for jail time.
By Lim Yan Liang

Four more Indian nationals involved in the Little India riot were sent home last night, taking the total number of workers deported over the Dec 8 incident to 57.

The men added to the list yesterday had initially been charged in court with rioting. Those charges were dropped on Tuesday but their involvement in the mayhem was deemed serious enough for repatriation, said the police.

The other 53, whose actions ranged from obstructing the police to failing to obey police orders to disperse during the riot, were never charged. But they were deemed to have posed a threat to the safety and security of Singapore - conditions that allow the authorities to deport and ban them from entering the country again under the Immigration Act.

The 57 - all Indian nationals except for one Bangladeshi - were served with immigration removal orders and deported in groups starting on Thursday. This was done after they were issued stern police warnings.

The latest development marks the end of the repatriation operation arising from the probe into unrest in the Indian enclave, said Commissioner of Police Ng Joo Hee yesterday.

There remain, however, around 200 other foreign workers who were called up by police to assist in investigations but who have yet to be dealt with. They will be issued with police advisories tomorrow morning, said Mr Ng.

He added that while a police warning is usually issued "in place of prosecution" and indicates that an offence may have been committed, an advisory is given to those who have not committed offences, and face no further action.

Mr Ng said those set to receive the police advisories had played "a passive and incidental" role during the riot, compared with the ones who have been deported.

Three other Indian nationals, who had charges against them dropped as well, will be issued with advisories together with the 200-odd other workers. All of them will be allowed to stay and work in Singapore, said Mr Ng.

Their employers, who will be notified by today, will have to be present with the workers when they receive the advisories.

"The advice is given to the guest worker, so he has to acknowledge that he has received it," said Mr Ng, adding that the advisory will be given both orally and in written form. "We want the employer to be present as a witness."

Meanwhile, the 28 charged with rioting are set to return to court on Monday after being remanded for investigations.

The Committee of Inquiry, appointed to look into the cause of the riot, has also started work.

Mr Ng said that the panel, heading by retired Supreme Court judge G.P. Selvam, has met 20 of the deported workers, including the four sent home last night.

The commissioner also reiterate that restrictions on the sale and consumption of alcohol in Little India will be in place from this weekend.

"Police officers will be present to enforce the order, and will act resolutely should they come across breaches and violations."

Wow, the 'wrongful loss' to Mediacorp and SP Powergrid amounts to an equivalent of 6 weeks in jail.

Those marker scribblings could be easily removed with some thinner alcohol... I'm quite sure the cost of repairing this 'vandalism' pales in comparison to the one painted at the top of the Toa Payoh flat.
