A four-year-old boy died tragically after drowning while playing in a pool at Jalan Loyang Besar, Aloha Loyang resort. While he was rescued at 7.18pm, he passed away 5 hours later in the hospital, after midnight on Dec 21.

According to Lianhe Wanbao, the boy was splashing about in the pool. An eyewitness, Cai Jinxing, 45, told the Chinese paper that he noticed when he saw a woman panicking.
He said he knew something was wrong and quickly helped to rescue the drowning boy along with two others – a member of the public, and a lifeguard.

The three of them worked together to try resuscitate the boy, and gave him CPR but his pulse was weak even after 20 minutes of resuscitation.
Cai said that the boy’s body had turned “blue” when the police and civil defense personnel arrived on the scene to rush the boy to the hospital.

He also said that perhaps it was because there was a lot of people in the pool, no one noticed the boy drowning at first.
He added that parents should pay more attention to children to ensure their safety.
Yesterday morning (Dec 22), the boy’s parents and two friends visited the mortuary. The mother, pushing a stroller, was described as “tired-looking”, red and swollen by the WanBao.
