There were a few student volunteer groups which organise a petition drive and meetings with the PTC, whom one guy I know very well, and it seem to have worked a bit.

Regardless whether is it done for political reasons or out of a sincere heart, credit must be given to those who went ahead with the petition and meetings despite the brickbats.

If there's an election move to it, so be it. After all, it doesn't erase the single fact that before this cut, public transport costs have been rising every year since the last elections, and the one before 2006.
