3 suspects arrested for loansharking activities

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested three men, aged between 24 to 48, for their alleged involvement in two separate cases of loan harrassment.
On Mar 30, officers from Jurong Police Division arrested the 48-year-old suspect at Bukit Batok Central at about 9.40pm. He is believed to have been a debtor-turned-runner, who had also assisted a loanshark syndicate to nab a Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card and its Personal Identification Number (PIN) from a debtor to engage in illegal moneylending activities.
Upon his arrest, the police seized one ATM card along with a mobile phone believed to be related to the aforementioned case.
Thereafter in a separate case on Mar 31, officers also from Jurong Police Division arrested another two male suspects aged 24 and 31 respectively along Jurong West Central 1.
Both suspects are believed to have been recruited by a loanshark syndicate to carry out harrassment acts at residences of debtors. They had gone to Jurong West and Bukit Batok public estates and spray painted the main doors of debtors' homes and vandalised walls with graffiti.
The police managed to seize two cans of spray paint and two marker pens that were believed to be in connection to the case.
All three suspects will be charged in court on April 1.
