A more effective retaliation and 'punishment' to be inflicted on the PAP govt for their high handedness and arrogance would be an ISLAND wide CANCELLATION of ALL SPH media publication subscriptions by Singaporeans to send a loud and clear message to Yacob over what locals think about being told what the govt deems; "what is RIGHT to read policy."

There will never be an Island Wide cancellation of SPH media subscriptions for the simple reason that the majority of Singaporeans are extremely happy with the content myself included.
Give me the Straits Times over the NZ Herald anytime. The absolute rubbish that the Herald publishes is mind boggling. Take yesterday's Herald as an example.. some lowlife scum burgler breaks into a golf course clubhouse at 4 am with a sawn off shotgun. The police are alerted and they try to escape but crash in the process. The mongrel then shoots at the police. The police fire back and kill him. The next morning, he's on the front page of the newspaper as if he was a national hero and a martyr!!!! His family describes him as a gentle giant and a very kind hearted individual.

The question is NOT about which paper has better content but the powers that be behind the "CONTROL OF MEDIA". Who would want to pay a subscription to read mainly PROPAGANDA local news in SG? World news content can be read from INTERNET FOC! ST articles about rapes, sordid extramarital affairs, gruesome murders/suicides etc are no different from the liberal crap printed in the NZ HERALD.
My point is; If the majority of Singaporeans continue to subscribe to the ST for content or whatever reasons, then all the PROTESTS at Hong Lim would simply be a WASTE OF TIME!

The Oceania countries newspapers are usually read with humour.
After that, they are used to wrap up fish & chips. The toxic ink taste wonderful with salt & vinegar.
Singapore newspapers cause indigestion, even if it is used to wrap up nasi lemak, and not eaten.
