A heated argument which led to a violent scuffle between two males in Geylang yesterday left one of them injured.

The Straits Times understands that the pair, aged 25 and 16, got into a fight at about 3.30am in the back alleyways around Lorong 30 and Lorong 32 Geylang.

The police said the youngster was subsequently arrested at the scene for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means.

Evening daily Lianhe Wanbao reported that the suspect, who is believed to be Vietnamese, was wielding a knife.

Two men were charged separately in a district court on Tuesday with having commercial sex with minors.

Han Yam Meng, 34, a printer technician, is alleged to have paid $150 to a 17-year-old Vietnamese girl to have sex with her at a Geylang hotel on June 15.

A pre-trial conference is set for Sept 5.

In the other case, computer technician Peter Gerald Chang Liang Chieh, 43, allegedly paid $100 to have sex with a 16-year-old Vietnamese national at a premise in Lorong 28 Geylang, on May 25.
