goes to show how much the other two bus operators were short-changing these captains. glad that a foreign owned bus operator is showing these two what the drivers are really worth.
In the age of social media, the most obvious next question from the passive-aggressive cynical social media types would be:
i.how many new citizens i.e. "Singaporeans" who have been citizens for less than 10 years
ii.how many are new PRs i.e. who have been here for less than 10 years
iii. how many are of each grouping are Malaysian/PRC/Pinoy/Indian PRs
What was the criteria for granting citizenships and PRs to such individuals?
My point is the open-door immigration policy has led to great unhappiness and dissatisfaction, where you still have 500 - 600 stateless persons who have lived here their entire lives and have nowhere else to go yet only 9-10 are successful in gaining citizenships.
No dishonour in earning an income from honest work whether its a bus driver or otherwise. Just get the sense that headlines like these mask another reality which has led to displacement and underemployment as a result especially since the thought that turning 40 is the end of a job prospects has become a harsh truth for many.

Not too fast here! Give them some time before they are infected with the sinkie corporate mentality of following the mantra that the customer is always right and taking away the dignity of the drivers for a fair defense in frivolous complaints. That's the main reason they are able to fill up all the vacancies for drivers. One can always hope for a more humane employer. Fuck Comfortdelgro.
