Nomination Day tomorrow - What will the PAP / Murali unveil tomorrow onwards?

The PAP will typically unveil a series of plans or sweeteners from nomination day onwards even for BEs albeit on a much smaller scale. So far the teaser is the $1.9m facilities upgrade plan for 640 households out of 12,000 households and it covers only one precinct - Blk 140 to 149. Presumably this is the precinct that cast the least votes for the PAP at the last GE or the upgrade has been scheduled all the while but it is now been dangled to force a mandate.

The PM is expected to pay a visit and make a statement about the candidate as part of the usual routine. However unlike Dr Koh Poh Koon's attempt at Punggol East SMC BE where the PM stated that Koh was slated for cabinet Murali comes from PAP grassroots. He is merely filling the quota for long standing party activists and replaces another activist David Ong. So this carrot would not be offered. The PM unlike his old man does not do threats such as HDB prices will collapse, the country will descent into chaos, etc. The only remaining option is back to pork-barrel politics which the PM is well known for. Money into bank accounts under the guise of some Give-back Citizens programme or excuse is usually reserved for GE and would look odd for a BE.

On the adversarial aspects of campaigning, I don't think they will go after the candidate which is the hallmark and DNA of PAP politics especially under Old Man. Even your GCE O level results was not spared as Chiam found out. George Yeo remarked that the Gomez attack went overboard and backfired badly.

Or is the PAP comfortable with what's already on the table?

Attack on Chee Soon Juan's integrity. PAP will never field a candidate like him. PAP people are whiter than white. They are not anal. They don't have wives who are in the property business. Only in gambling of state money for the benefit of Singapore. And they even sacrifice the security of the country by pulling Generals out of the Armed Forces to be cabinet ministers. All for a better future. For themselves.

The general consensus within the PAP and their sycophants in pesudo research group such as Gillian Koh etc is that these tactics are no longer effective as if it is often repeated like a broken record. The most that would come out is the Chut Pattern tactics that was displayed by Sim Ann. I think she looked more silly as well as mean than anyone else. Google "Chut Pattern" and he name and images pop up. She must rue the day that she did this.

Did anyone notice that PAP has switched tactics. Murali is increasingly wearing casual clothes and not the whiter than white uniforms. Also photos of him sitting at coffeeshop with kopi glass in casual clothes are appearing in the media. Looks like they are trying to identify him with the demographics and not the highly paid whiter than white lot.

I bet he came in 9 year Toyota Vios. Opened his wallet with no premium credit cards. Just a few ten dollar notes to pay for his own coffee. The halo behind his head was a photoshoped problem for SPH arts department though.

I notice that the Indians in Bukit Batok is 11% above the 9.1% average across the country. The Indian ratio I am sure is helped by Indian Indians. In 1970, the ratios was 7% Indians while Chinese stood at 77% and Malays at 14.8%. Both the Chinese and Malays have declined and now stands at 74.3% for Chinese and Malays at 13.3%. Who the fuck is watching all things?

agree and i wonder if he uses the same pen when in R&T. maybe even switches to a humble Vezel?

What interesting is who gets the $1.9m contract? Needless to say those bosses who are part of RC, CCC etc. here you have a self sustaining political Ecosystem.

Tis race is abt CSJ vs PAP, Murali is there just to represent the PAP, im sure tis will be told to the BB residents when Ah Loong make his appearence and the race factor will not be mention.

SINGAPORE - Five political donation certificates have been issued to five individuals who have applied for it, the Elections Department said in a statement on Monday (April 25).

A political donation certificate is one of the documents that candidates must submit on Nomination Day on Wednesday (April 27) if they are to run as candidates for the May 7 Bukit Batok by-election.

While the Election Department did not disclose the names of candidates, we already know of all but one of them.

They are: Mr Murali Pillai, 48, of the People's Action Party (PAP), Dr Chee Soon Juan, 53, of the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP), private-hire car driver Sherwin Eu, 32, and former opposition candidate Abdul Rahim Osman, 59.

Mr Pillai and Dr Chee have declared their intention to run last month, while the other two have not.

If they do, the single-member constituency could have a multi-cornered fight.

"Self-sustaining political ecosystem" is a good way of summarizing what has been happening. The system is kept alive by money. On the flip side, WP even has trouble hiring external managing agents for its TC.

Maybe Murali will unveil JohnTan's wife?

This is the reality of politics. In US the president rewards their key campaigners with ambassador appointments for their help during campaign. Here you have pap using taxpayers money to dangle the carrots and win votes. There after share the spoils in the form of upgrading contracts with their cronies as reward for their loyalty.
