it's to save money. buying online is cheaper, maybe 10-15%.

In the end, kanna conned and have to spend money again to but a new one.. Isn't that spending more money.. Plus waste energy and time to feel angry and warn others about being cheated..

Compare to buy a real quality one and then end of the story.

So which is cheaper?

Those who buy them either

* know they are fakes yet buy to resell for a profit which means they are scammers

* give them as gifts which means they are cheapos but if recipients are aware of it then who are the idiots?

* are morons for not knowing... this has been rampant for many years.

you have to shop smart, and avoid the fakes. furthermore, marketplaces like eBay and Amazon have a good buyer purchase protection program that decides in favor of the buyer in most purchases disputes. it's money back guarantee in most cases if you unluckily bought a fake item.

some items like 128gb flash drive for $10 very obvious fake one. just apply common sense and don't let greed get the better of you. there's no way that the genuine items can be so dirt cheap.

The flash drive/NAND/SSD industry is currently split among three groups.

Each group is an alliance in itself sharing R&D or manufacturing plants.

1) Toshiba/Sandisk

2) Intel/Micron

3) Hynix/Samsung (the Korean boys)

It is more important to consider the source of the flash drive rather than the brand of it. For example, Lexar brand products always contain flash memory from Micron.

This for USD$4.69 is confirmed FAKE with the lure of free card reader. Not sure if the free gift will work.

Except for eBay and Amazon, Buyers protection is non existent in this e-commerce site and complaints will be ignored according to Trust Pilot reviews. Shipping is very slow but for the cheap prices of other goods, fake or genuine, wait if u have the patience.
