Alam Tam still sounds good and well....like Alam Tam......
But if you play the same song from the 80s and his later versions....you'll realized his vocal prowess regress significantly and very much different already. He should just retire gracefully

He should learn from Sun Ho how to keep his vocal chords healthy.

Yes, much coarser. Chain-smoking. His voice was much smoother in the '70s and '80s.

One thing I admire about Alan was the fact he did not bothered to try to pander to the PRC market by learning mandarin......though he did sing some of his songs later in mandrain (probably due to contractual obligations).....his mandrain was atrocious and it's clear he did not make much of an effort.

Atrocious is an understatement. His partner form Wynners, Kenny Bee, spoke much better Mandarin, partly because of his filming in Taiwan. That said, HK singers from that generation couldn't speak Mandarin to save their lives. Those from the '90s onwards are much better.

Yes. His voice was much clearer and powerful in this earlier recorded version:

Thank you.
What a good video to make a comparison. He is not even half as clear and powerful as before.
Perhaps, he smokes and drinks alcohol, and/or he is not taking care of his vocal health
(my sons' choir school provide a list of things to and not to do)
He should retire.

He should never have started singing in the first place. He sucks. :*:

That is your opinion and you are entitled to give your opinion Alan Tam. Similarly you can praise your idol Sun Ho till the cow comes home.

However the fact is Alan Tam is King of Canto pop in the 80s and Sun Ho is just a singer who depends on funding and support from CHC followers to be "popular".
