Re: Ass Loon: Cost of living complaints due to SGs demanding better lifestyle. TRUE?

Delusion? Not the first time from Lee Hsien Loong.

Ask PM Lee - 2014

8.00PM PM Lee answers questions on cost of living in Singapore: Expectations have changed. Today people have fewer children, but people put more pressure on themselves and for their children. Cost of living is on many people's minds. Yes, things have become more expensive, but incomes have gone up faster than prices.

Re: Ass Loon: Cost of living complaints due to SGs demanding better lifestyle. TRUE?

True. In the past when I started working, I ate mainly mixed vegetable rice for only $2.50 and below. Choices of veggie and meat were simple due to my low earning power. Now, many years later, I often spend at least $20 on a meal. If I eat mixed veggie rice, I now spend around $5 - 2 meats 2 veggies. I spend a lot more, but I also get to save a lot more too. The value of my home has also doubled over the past ten years.

Thank you Lee Hsien Loong for you good leadership!

so we are stuck in 1984 then?if u notice our gdp per capital is $7,000 in 1984. our gdp per capital is $70,000 now.perhaps its only apporpriate that we expect our salaries to rise in tandem with the country's wealth and subsequent inflation?does anyone know the average salary in 1984 for a blue collar and white collar worker?it should be at least $800.so its fair to say singaporeans should be earning at least $8000 per month now??

In most developed parts of the world, wealth is made up more of property than cash income. In cosmopolitan cities, property prices had risen faster than incomes. It is the same for stock prices, ie banks, microsoft, walmart, facebook. If your measure of wealth is based mostly on your income, then you probably would be lagging behind the economy. My wealth ballooned primarily because of my investment in my home and stocks over the years. While my income increased several fold as compared to my first full-time income, it still lags behind the growth of my wealth from property and stock investments.

If you are a blue collared worker whose wealth depends nearly on your $2000 a month paycheck, then you are probably doomed to remain in a vicious cycle of poverty.

I dun believe in quality people. There is no such thing called quality people.

Dun believe tell me who is quality people and ask ISD to open their files.

Then you can see their skeletons in their closet.

I beg to differ. Skeletons in their closet concerning their private life does not necessary mean the person is not a quality person. Don't mix private life with professional capabilities as long as key characteristics remain intact, like integrity.

So cease your fearmongering and self-flattery, you sack of shit.

Can't wait to see who he will reveal as new candidates. With his policies and his sinking ship, I wonder who will jump on board. ..

Rebutting LHL’s claims on Ch 8 talk show

PM Lee was interviews on channel 8 talk show tonight on the following issues:-

(1) His performance – He claimed that the lives of Singaporeans have improved during the last 10 years or so under his leadership.

Truth: As professor Lim Chong Yah has shown the wages of workers including those of middle income groups have been suppressed to be among the lowest as compared with the comparable economies like Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan etc. Recently Dr. Tommy Koh has pointed out that about 30% of school students do not have enough pocket monies to spend on meal.

(2) High cost of living and housing – He defended against the complaint by people on this matter by saying that by comparison with the earlier period, citizens were also experiencing high costs but they were hardly any complaints. He added that many people in Hong Kong and Taiwan could not even afford to buy their own houses.

Truth: Lands were acquired at compulsory acquisition cost of as low as S$1.00 psf in most cases but were auctioned at developers’ land sales at hundreds psf. Billions of profits were made on such lands by Singapore Land Authority per year on such land sale which were not disclosed when minister Khaw claimed that HDB flats were subsidised by up to S$1.3 billions for 2013. Not to mention the profiteering on COE, ERP, foreign workers’ levies and billions made by privatization of public utility companies and double charging on asset amortization all over by the SPL etc. Not to mention the extra fees and fares increases by all the GLCs using laws and monopoly power to do so at the expense of the citizens.

(3) Possibility of finding people of talent to serve as MPs and his successor – He considered that it is difficult to find people of capability to serve as MPs but he blamed it on the burden faced by politicians having to expose families to public scrutiny etc.

Truth: With pappies ruling the country, with clamp-down on freedom and rights of citizens worsen by use of ISA to eliminate potential leaders and suing of people for criticisms against wrongful policies of the ruling pappies, the pappies should bear full responsibility for our current dearth of able people to run for election. Just look at recent attack by CCS on CSJ and his defamation suit against Roy and charging of ordinary citizens speaking at Hong Lim park for public nuisance it should be clear enough that pappies are using laws and all the underhand tactics causing a dearth of good people to come forward to serve. It is a lie to blame the dearth of good people to serve as attributable to shyness to public scrutiny. As for potential successor, he was not certain up to now whether he has found a potential successor. This shows that he has failed to groom a person of potential even up to this stage to be his successor. He seems totally unprepared to honour his promise to find one.

(4) 6.9 million population – He defend this white paper which was pushed through parliament and passed by all pap MPs by saying that it is not a target but merely a reference benchmark for construction of facilities.

Truth: The additional 1.5 – 2 million new citizens have already caused the MRT trains’ constant disruptions for quite some years now without the vision of pappies to prepare the necessary facility to meet such population increases for the ulterior purpose of entrenching pappies in power. Not to mention the suppression of citizens’ wages and losses of hundreds of thousands of jobs to foreign fakes many of whom are unable to adapt to our culture as seen by recent incidents of Pinoys threatening to kill Singaporeans,

(5) Pioneer Generation package – he was happy that the PGP was well received by citizens.

Truth : He conveniently forgot to mention that most citizens are unhappy with pappies’ breaking of promise to return their own retirement savings to them at 55 to meet subsistence needs as many of them are without cash savings due to the system of sucking them dry of monies through public housing and COE/ERP and unstable job markets due to opening of foreign floodgate to serve pappies’ own political agenda to entrench in power at their expense.

I happened to see the part that he mentioned about that Ello. I only heard him saying the guy working in TTSH and was fired. Nothing more right or did I miss? He never scolded him disgraceful or whatever words that he scolded Singaporeans previously and obviously that Ello is worse than disgraceful. Whoever represent us must have the quality to scold foreigners who misbehave and not scold Singaporeans only.

Education achievement, infrastructure regret and the failure

[h=1]EDUCATION ACHIEVEMENT, INFRASTRUCTURE REGRET AND THE FAILURE[/h]
Post date:
18 Jan 2015 - 8:23pm

The interview, celebrating 10-year of prime minister power, looks more like an invitation to a freak election. And the Huffington Post article by Minister Chan Chun Sing proves not only the quality of PAP leadership but also the likelihood of a freak election result.

Whether achievement in education (ITE, poly, every school a good school) or regret in slow infrastructure development (HDB, public transport), all these are policy related. For a developed and mature society, as the PAP claims credit to make Singapore from third to first world, it has to involve soul searching and philosophical thinking. Policy making is a total approach and interrelated.

What kind of lifestyle do Singaporeans want? The PAP model of education and infrastructure or alternative policies? PM Lee has made his case too simple. Whether achievement or regret, they are not standing alone. It is an accumulation of SG50. The past policies of the PAP government result to today’s achievement and regret.
Why is PM lee so shy to mention our ‘one of the highest GNP per capita in the world’ as his achievement? Why does he not mention rich-poor gap and poverty as his regret? Is The Interview a prelude to general election? And so, he obviously and intentionally omit some important points that he wants voters to forget.

PM Lee uses the state machinery to create wealth for both local and foreigners. However, he fails to distribute it properly. Singapore has one of the highest GINI index in the world. Singaporeans are also less protected in healthcare, retirement and even education (university places).

Facing a better educated and English speaking voters, PM Lee has to admit that Singapore politics will change and it all depends on the voters. He wants to show his side of democracy, transparency and openness by giving a ‘frank interview’. He knows, at best, he can score 50% here when interviewed by the English mainstream media. He mentions about more single member constituencies and less or smaller group constituencies as he tries to meet the demand of voters. He even shifts to middle ground to focus on the quality of candidates irregard of whether they are PAP or opposition candidates. For example, as one may suggest selecting a candidate between PAP’s Minister Chan or SDP’s Dr Chee.

He has to show concern and worry to this group of voters: young, English speaking, middle income and better educated. He knows he does not score high in social media despite his experiencing in Facebook or Instagram. This group appears to be the reason for a freak election when he speaks to the approved English media.

However, he is even more worry about traditional voters - the long-time supporters of the PAP. They are confused when they read the news in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Why are people there not happy? After so many years of hard work and contributions, life and income have not improved. Why?

The real cause of a freak election is the runaway of traditional support. SG50 celebration has just begun and the result of gaining back support may be too optimistic or far from target. In The Interview with Chinese MSM, these are the highlights:

$ PM Lee thanks the Chinese educated for their contribution.
李总理感谢受华文教育者对国家贡献

$ PM Lee discusses the change of mandate/government. He warns voters it is free to vote the oppositions but will lead to change of the ‘sky/heaven’. It is dangerous to do so.
接受华文媒体访问李总理谈变天

在新加坡,大家以为不会变天,放心,自由投票,我看这是一个很危险的考虑
$ PM Lee stresses the importance of relationship between the government and Chinese associations, grassroots, and communities. The PAP is actively engaged and Minister Chan is the first name he mentions for this traditional engagement.

李总理谈政府与团体的互动。

If the PAP can hold the traditional ground, the statement ‘Singaporeans want the PAP to govern Singapore’ may be valid. This, perhaps, gives Minister Chan the argument of ‘Dr Chee is a failure who lost 3 elections’. The PAP is confidence that they can hold the Chinese and traditional grounds. And Minister Chan, without directly elected by the voters, is so confidence that his involvement with the Chinese community will bear fruit of loyalty votes.

Perhaps, Minister Chan is right. Perhaps, PM Lee’s Chinese interview can maintain or regain the loyalty. If so, freak election is not likely. If so, Dr Chee may lose the election four times.

In traditional Chinese thinking, failure is not to be ashamed of. Many heroes are failures. From Xiang Yu (项羽), Gaun Yu(关羽), Yue Fei(岳飞) to Hong Xiu Quan (洪秀全), all of them have occupied a place in history. Their names are mentioned more often than the unknown emperors. Oh!Not to forget Deng Xiao Ping’s ‘three down and three up’.

If SDP can have a breakthrough in the traditional ground, then the freak election is possible. In the past 20 years, SDP has been badly named by the government and the MSM. And Minister Chan is so happy that this bad name effect is still valid today. This makes him so confidence to name Dr Chee a failure.

Who is the failure in the next general election? PM Lee, Minister Chan, Dr Chee, the PAP or the oppositions. What do you think?

In reality, the nation have been providing welfare state benefits "minimum wages" in millions to each individual leech aka papee, (juz because of one party rule system) to leeches aka papees leeching on the system. These leeches aka papees wasting nation's time and resources and etc every single second of the Mother Earth's day. By some unfortunate default, we as a nation have to put food on table and tonnes of $$$ for these leeches...

The country needs the government (employees of the public) to work for the country.
Can these leeches aka papees become self reliant? Get a job and be prepared to work hard
at least for once in a lifetime. Stop Leeching on the system.
