Rafael Hui's mistress fears expensive gifts he gave her will be confiscated

The mistress of Rafael Hui Si-yan received so much cash from her former lover that she was embarrassed to take more from him, according to an interview published in East Week magazine where she confirmed her secret affair with Hui.
The 34-year-old from Shanghai told East Week that she had been shocked to learn Hui had been convicted of bribery and misconduct, as she revealed details of her relationship with the married Hui, a former chief secretary in the Hong Kong government.
The former Dragon Air flight attendant, Eline Shen, said she feared the gifts Hui gave her - including a flat in Shanghai and an Audi - would be confiscated following Hui's conviction for bribery and misconduct.
Eline said she met Hui at a dinner several years ago and the couple secretly dated for some two years, even though she knew the 66-year-old had a wife.
She would fly from Shanghai to Hong Kong each time Hui called her for company, she said.
“All my expenses in Hong Kong were paid by Hui … we kept our relationship and would have sex every time,” said Eline, adding that their last date was in September 2011, after which time Hui stopped calling her back.

Hui confessed in court that he had spent at least HK$7 million on a young Shanghai woman with whom he started an “intimate” relationship in 2008.
Apart from cash handouts, he told the court, he purchased properties and made investments for the woman, in addition to buying bags, watches and other presents for her.
"The value of those gifts ... was not low," he told the court.
Without specifying a currency, the mistress said she had used "around five million" to purchase a flat and an Audi in Shanghai, with the rest being used for daily expenses.
She told the ICAC she had not asked him for more money after his last cash gift in 2009, according to East Week, as she "had already given me so much money that I found it embarrassing to take any more".
When asked if she regretted meeting Hui, Eline said: “It’s useless to talk about regret now.”
