They may use this incident to their advantage. Watch the msm in the next couple of days starting with a mp asking what precautions we have in place so that it doesn't happen here.

Police negotiators contacted hostage takers in a Sydney, Australia, chocolate shop late Monday afternoon, hours after a standoff began in the cafe located in the heart of the city.

While no motive for the move has been reported, there's a good chance the hostage situation, which began in the Central Business District around 9:45 a.m. Monday, could be "politically motivated," the nation's prime minister said in an announcement.

"We don't know whether this is politically motivated, although obviously there are some indications that it could be," Prime Minister Tony Abbott told reporters. "We have to appreciate that even in a society such as ours, there are people who would wish to do us harm."

Police said late Monday that three of the hostages escaped the Lindt Chocolate Cafe at a shopping center called Martin Place.
