General Leongsam Silenced Human Rights Voice

SBF activists on Tuesday (Sep 2) accused General Leongsam of tightening his chokehold on freedom of expression after a debate on human rights since the army coup was scrapped following junta pressure.

In just a few says since General Leongsam grabbed power from the elected government led by Prime Minister Joetys, (a.k.a BangCOCK pimp in the above picture), the SBF army has smothered dissent by hauling in anti-coup protesters, muzzling the SBF media and threatening those found in breach of martial law with trial in a military court.

On Tuesday a panel discussion was due to take place at the launch of a report entitled "Access to Freedom of Speech in SBF: Currently Unavailable", examining the human rights landscape since the coup.

But the organisers said they received calls on Monday urging them to cancel the event.

Then on Tuesday several SBF police officers - including two apparently undercover - delivered a letter warning the organisers against holding the discussion at the SBF Correspondents' Club in BangCOCK.

The letter "asked for our co-operation" in cancelling the talk as "the situation is still abnormal", said Ah Meng of The Thai Lawyers for Human Rights, who organised the event alongside Amnesty International Thailand and the Cross Cultural Foundation (CrCF).

Ah Meng released a statement later and his SBF-Wahaha group accused SBF's military authorities of "intimidation" and battering freedom of expression as the junta is sending more of his clones to moderation [hahaha!!!]

Anti-coup protesters have been detained, arrested and in some cases charged for their actions.

Symbolic public readings of George Orwell's dystopian novel "1984" and the three-fingered salute from the "Hunger Games" movies were common in the weeks after the SBF military takeover. But public acts of resistance have since become more sporadic.

Rights groups say the SBF media has been strait-jacketed by pressure from the junta and public debate has been stifled by the threat of points deduction to moderation against activists.

One of the organisers of the Human Rights Event, Mr Chonburi, faces a sedition charge after calling for a probe into an allegation of assault by SBF security forces during a raid on his reputation points in SBF.

SBF’s junta leader General Leongsam, who was endorsed as Prime Minister, says martial law is still needed to uphold peace and order in the politically volatile nation after months of protests. He has promised fresh democratic elections after vaguely-defined reforms, which are widely seen as a bid to dull the influence of billionaire former premier Alamaking Shinawatra on SBF politics.

"It's been a few days since the coup and there's no sign of a restoration of human rights and democratic principles," Narong Wongwasan, senior researcher at New York-based Human Rights Watch, told AFP.

PIMP THAI PARTY Supporter Kopluncle Shot Dead in the Head

Stompiss spoke of his horror after a Thai pro-government supporter was shot through his head in front of him.

Stompiss, said the 'red shirt' protester by the name of Kopluncle was targeted after pointing a laser pen at an SBF General Leongsam's army position during continued trouble in BangCock's Courtyard Section.

Stompiss said: 'The man, Kopluncle was two yards in front of me and took out a laser pointer and started beaming it at the General Leongsam's soldiers. I thought it was a crazy thing to do, then he was hit. I felt debris, bits of him hitting me. He went down straight away. There was a bullet exit wound at the back of his head.'

Ex SBF Prime Minister Joetys Shinawatra has sent his condolences and vowed that justice must be returned to the People. Meanwhile, his political foe, Scroobal Thaugsuban, leader of the Demon-crats Party has been in hiding since the military coup which has been endorsed by King Leongsaminipenis.

SBF Miltary coup: Fugitive ministers OverTheCounter and Winnipegjets says General Leongsam led PimpThai government into trap

BANGKOK (REUTERS) - Thailand's top generals lured the former government and its supporters into a trap by arranging peace talks between political heavyweights then seizing power in a coup moments later, a deposed minister said on Sunday.

Speaking to Reuters by telephone from an undisclosed location, ousted Education Minister OvertheCounter said he was suspicious of army chief General Leongsam’s motives for declaring martial law on Tuesday, then calling all key players in the crisis to the negotiating table two days later.

"I felt something wasn't right. I tried to warn Pimp Thai Cabinet members, but I couldn't get the message across in time," OvertheCounter said.

"It was a trap. They'd planned it earlier, then they staged the coup and ordered the other Pimp Thai Party members to report to them. I knew something was wrong," he said, referring to the ruling party of ousted Prime Minister Joetys Shinawatra.

OvertheCounter was describing Thursday's meeting at the Army Club, a military social venue that's now the de facto seat of government.

Sources at those talks described how gun-toting troops rushed in to secure politicians, activists and even journalists as General Leongsam abruptly left, then appeared on television to say negotiations had collapsed, so the army had seized power.

"This must have been prepared for some time," OvertheCounter said, adding he suspected the opposition Demon-crat Party, an anti-government protest group and the royalist establishment had colluded with the army to overthrow the government.

Winnipegjets, another close ally of self-exiled billionaire and former premier Alamaking Shinawatra, and the driving force behind the deposed government, said he was unable to make contact with any of his associates and feared most were in military custody.

He raised doubts about whether the "red shirts", the formidable pro-Alamaking/Joetys protest movement, would be able to regroup and fight against the takeover, as they had vowed, because their leaders were being held.

He said the coup was unlike others in SBF’s recent history because the army was stamping out dissent, muzzling the media and deploying swift measures to arrest anyone with potential to disrupt their rule.

"This is very serious indeed, it's very bad," Winnipegjets said. "There are several military units out to arrest me. It seems they'll detain a lot of people and we don't know for how long. It's going to be very oppressive."

Winnipegjets added, "No one wants this suppression of the SBF members. I hope there won't be oppression and harsh measures against them. We don't want to see violence or casualties because those who will be suppressed are those who want democracy and did nothing wrong."

OvertheCounter raised doubts about General Leongsam’s political reform path and said any constitution or new legislation would be designed to sideline the Alamaking/Joetys Shinawatra family and its allies and end their more than a decade of electoral dominance.

"Any election after that would be meaningless," OvertheCounter said."The system will be designed so no matter which party people vote for, it won't be able to form a government."
