Online Thai sex ring busted in Johor Baru

JOHOR BARU - An online syndicate that offered sex services has been busted with the arrest of nine Thai women at a hotel along Jalan Wong Ah Fook here.

State Immigration Department assistant deputy director Khairul*anuar Abu Bakar said the women, aged between 21 and 31, were detained following a raid at 11.30pm on Friday.

"They have been advertising themselves through an online web portal," he said, adding that the syndicate would reply to clients via SMS to confirm their "bookings".

"The women, who entered the country using social visit passes, have been sent to the Pekan Nenas immigration depot for further investigations," he said.

You can't bust an on line vice ring by arresting nine Thai women because eighteen Thai women will fill the vacancies created by tomorrow morning. :rolleyes:

Why do the authorities clamp down on prostitution? Sex is an integral part of the human experience, not unlike eating and drinking.

Why not close down the F&B outlets too for consistency, instead of being a hypocrite about 'vice' and making a show of stopping the oldest profession.

Apart from the "moral" issue, the main issue is that gov can't collect tax from these business effectively. If there is a sure way to collect tax money from these profession, you can be sure that it will become legal.

I also dun know why the Malaysian don't take a more realistic approach & cash in on human vices. Just look at Spore & imagine how much the gov't is making from all the casinos, night clubs, PUBs, ...

Makes one wonder if there is something else going on behind the scenes :confused:

Maybe these raids are to put pressure on certain parties. Give more for the Hari Raya festivities or face these problems :wink:

The pubs and niteclubs are doing very well. Undertable $$$ and protection $$$$ even better. Consumption of drugs on premises no problem as long as protected.
But they don't cover raids from Bukit Amman.
