Case

You have 2 screens, a horizontal touch screen and a larger Vertical non-touch screen, both are full HD. You are the hosting site with an address setup as "XYZ Shopping Complex".

So your task would be
1. Identify who are your customers
2. Sorting out both you and your customers subscribers/advertisers
3. Definning the addresses and categories
4. Configuring your screens
5. Streamlining the displays
6. Workout a schedule and time plan
7. Charging base on display time and interactive session
8. Implementation

Who are your customers

In a shopping complex, the customers that will subscribe to your service will most likely to be the individual shop owner. These are the "owners" that will be setting up their page or pages for displayed at your noticeboard. They would want their products to be scheduled for display as well as wanting the public to browse through their products interactively.

Besides the shop owner, you are open to interested advertisers from the public for another revenue source. They can be group into the "owners" or your own private subscribers.

Subscribers ( branch, client, anonymous )

A subscriber has it's own address and also has another address, targeting to an owner. For example, your advertisers which are your subscribers will have their target address pointing to "XYZ Shopping Complex". Your subscribers can also be one of your own pages, ie. you want to have some pages promoting yourself and therefore has it's target address pointing back to you.

Similarly your customers, which are the individual "owners" has their own subscribers. These subscribers will have the target address pointing to them example "XYZ Shopping Complex Shop A".

How do I classify them

You are free to group your subscribers into "branch", "client" or "anonymous", just like your customers are free to group theirs. How your customers group their subscribers, has no impact to you or your other customers.

As the meaning of the word suggest, you would group "branch" as your own self promoting page, "client" as the advertisement page for your advertisers and "anonymous" for others or a feedback from the public.

Setting up Addresses and Categories

Address

Your address needs to be as specific and as clear as possible so that your subscribers have no problem indicating in their target address. In a search process for subscribers to a particular owner, every lines in the address has to match. So the address for you and each of your customers has to be unique.

Categories

Name, descriptions, keywords and categories are all group and called categories. In the future we may put weightages to it or have name, descriptions and keywords segregated. Right now, the most repeated words comes up top in searches.

Catgories are also use for further breaking down your branches and clients into different grouping.

Configuring your Screens

You have 2 screens, you want the larger portrait screen for display only and the smaller landscape touch screen for interactive access. Bear in mind, in terms of pixel values they are similar (1920x1080 and 1080x1920 for full HD).

Out of Bound - reserved areas

As much as you like to have both screen areas for display to your customer, there are some consideration. You need a small square for the clear button "Trash Bin" and a narrow strip to house each of our customers icon. If you omit the customers icon, then the public do not have the choice to interactively select a particular shop, if that is your choice you can tuck it away.

Also, if your main project file, contains any windows under the same cluster as your Search group their boundaries will automatically be out of bound to your customer displays.

Host & Guest

You being the hosting site, so you are the "Host" and your customers are the "Guest". When you specify a display area of your screen and if you declare it as "Host", essentially this area will become a "Host" only display and therefore are out of bound to your customers. That is, if any of your customer display encroach into this space, it will be removed.

Your Screen Area

On your first screen:

1. Area "0,0,48,48" to hold the "Trash Bin".
2. Area "0,50,100,600" to hold the customers icons.

On your Second Screen - which has a screen configuration of "1920,0,1080,1920".

1. You setup your host out of bound display area, which has the bounded rectangle of "1920,0,1080,120". This will be use as a scrolling region for your announcement to the public.
2. A share area to display both your advertisers and your customers Ads. Which the region is "1920,120,1080,1800".

Your Customer display area

So, besides the above the out of bound areas, essentially your customers can make use of all other spaces to display their content. In order for them to use these spaces, your customers needs to configure their display windows in their project file.

However, not all customers may do that. So, you must also specify an area of the screen to contain your customer main page, ie. the "Owner" region, and cater other areas of your screen to contain your their subscribers too. That is, if any of your customer did not specify a region for themselves or their subscribers, these pages will be directed to where you wanted them and not get lost.

Who has the Screen

Scheduling & Timing

The scheduling is done round-robin, ie. when it is started, it reads in all your customers main page and iconise them to be scheduled. So, every customer will have the opportunity to take control of the screens to display. The time that each customer is allocated depends on the configuration of the customer's main page. Though that appears as if you have no control of the timing, but it also means that you could charge your customers accordingly.

Delay & Timing

When there is an interaction on your touch screen, it will cause a delay depending on how long it's interaction are. Secondly, when a user select a particular customer screen, it will automatically cause a re-scheduled from the selected customer.

Priorities and Scooping

You as the "Host" means that your subscribers will be scooped up and stay permanently fixed into their display areas, however if you are sharing a particular display area, every time there is a change in customer, your subscribers will reschedule and go back to the end of the queue for that display area.

While for a customer, it's main page together with all it's subscribers will only be displayed during it's active timeslot. After that, it will be removed.

Display Area & Pages

Your dedicated Host Area

You have an area of 1080x120 for your scrolling your announcement. It can have one or a multiple of windows contain within a single project file or files. If there are more then one file, each project file will be scheduled one after the other and repeat. The scheduling time to display is configured within that particular project. Same as if you have only one file.

Your Shared Display Area

This is your advertiser display area "1080x1800", you should also make known to your customers that they can make use of this area for display only Ad, no on screen interaction. As this is shared, whenever a customer time elapse, whatever is on displayed may or may not be rescheduled depends whether there is a new customer page coming in or an existing customer page has expired.

Charging by display time and interactive session

As every customer takes turn to play, their session time is recorded as well as the interactive touches they received from the public. This together with the number and sizes of their display areas provided you a good mechanism to base your charges on.

Implementation
