36-year-old Senaka Liyanage allegedly touched the buttocks of the 26-year-old nurse inside an operating theatre in Changi General Hospital between 11am and noon on April 5.
He is accused of touching her on a second occasion, and a third time at about 2pm.
The doctor is a specialist working in the hospital's Anaesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care department.
The accused is represented by Mr Daniel Atticus Xu, who has asked for a pre-trial conference. It has been scheduled for July 13.
He can be jailed up to two years, fined, caned or receive any combination of these sentences if found guilty.

A foreign doctor from Changi General Hospital (CGH) was suspended following allegations of molestation.
The doctor, who is from Sri Lanka, is a specialist working in CGH’s Anaesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care department since 2010.
He allegedly touched the buttocks of a nurse in an operating theatre earlier this month. The nurse then reported the incident to a senior nurse, who in turn brought the matter to the nursing director.
The foreign doctor, in his 30s, has been suspended since last Mon (9 Apr) but it is understood that no police report has been made so far.
When contacted by the media yesterday (14 Apr), a CGH spokesperson said, “This is a very serious matter.”
“The hospital expects the highest level of conduct from our staff at all times. We are investigating the allegation and the staff has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.”
Other than the Sri Lankan doctor, there were at least 2 other foreign doctors from CGH involving in sexual misconducts.
About 3 weeks ago (27 Mar), a Malaysian doctor, Dr Ivan Ngeow Ko Yen, from CGH’s Geriatric Medicine department, was charged in court for dressing as a schoolgirl and exposing himself to a 19-year-old female undergraduate. The Malaysian doctor pleaded guilty to insulting the girl’s modesty (Malaysian born cross-dressing doctor exposes himself to teen).
9 months ago in Jul 2011, a doctor from India, Dr Thiyagarajan Mathimaran, was charged in court with molesting a woman at a staff toilet. He was attached to CGH’s Urology department at that time. He was later cleared of the charge after he paid $5,000 to the woman he allegedly molested.
According to the latest annual report by the Singapore Medical Council, majority (59%) of registered doctors in 2010 were foreigners:
In 2010, 331 (41%) Singaporeans received full and conditional medical registrations (aka registering to be a doctor) and for foreign doctors, the number is a whopping 484 (59%). Note that this number does not even include some of the other 396 foreign doctors who were granted temporary registrations.
Would hiring more foreign doctors create more problems for Singapore? Only time can tell…

A former nurse testified in court that she did not confront a doctor who tapped her buttocks on three separate occasions in an operation theatre because she was busy assisting the surgeons.
At the start of the trial on Tuesday, the 26-year-old said that anaesthetist Senaka Liyanage, 37, had approached her from behind before touching her inappropriately twice between 9.30am and 10.30am, and again at 2pm, on April 5 last year.
The woman cannot be identified as this is a molestation case. She said that prior to the incidents, she found Liyanage to be "quite nice and very kind" as he did not scold people or quarrel with the nurses.
The nurse of six years resigned from the hospital in August last year because she was "very disappointed" in the lack of support from the management.
In the cross-examination by defence counsel S. Selvaraj, the woman, now a sales executive, admitted that she had told the main surgeon that the patient had no allergies only to be corrected by Liyanage who had pointed out that the patient was allergic to penicillin.

A former nurse appeared "scared and stressed" when telling a colleague that she had been molested by a doctor during an operation. Anaesthetist nurse Tan Moi Yong, 54, testified that although the 26-year-old victim had a surgical mask on, she "could see the fear and stress in her eyes".
"I asked her what happened and she said Dr Senaka Liyanage had touched her buttocks three times," said Ms Tan.
Dr Liyanage, 37, an anaesthetist, is on trial for outraging the victim's modesty twice between 9.30am and 10.30am and again at about 2pm during the same operation at Changi General Hospital on April 5 last year.
Also taking the stand on the third day of the trial on Tuesday was senior staff nurse Wee Choon Bin. She was on duty outside the operating theatre at about 3pm when the victim told her that Dr Senaka had touched her.

Dr Senaka Liyanage, 37, was initially accused of tapping the right buttock of the 26-year-old nurse three times on April 5 last year between 9.30am and 2.30pm.
All three alleged incidents took place in the emergency operating theatre in Changi General Hospital.
At that time, the anaesthetic doctor was busy with preparing and conducting an operation.
The complainant, who cannot be named, was a nurse there and was helping out with the preparation.
District Judge Toh Yung Cheong said in his oral judgement that the prosecution's case rested "mainly on the testimony of the complainant".
He said there was "no independent corroboration" and that "none of the three incidents was witnessed by anyone in the operating theatre".
The judge said that while it is a well-established law that an accused person may be convicted of a sexual offence on the uncorroborated testimony of the complainant, the evidence must be "unusually convincing" to prove the prosecution's case beyond reasonable doubt.
After consideration, the judge said he found the victim's evidence insufficient in itself and found the doctor not guilty.
Through his lawyer, Dr Liyanage expressed thanks and was grateful for the exoneration.
The father of two still works at the hospital.
