Wow, so fast, at 203 pages already! At the speed the pages are moving, we will be crossing the 800-page mark faster than the previous one. Its been 6 months now since I came across this forum and maybe next week I may be collecting the keys to my HH house. Same time last year, JB wasnt even on my radar! I would usually bypass JB in all my drives up north. Its amazing how this forum started by Wuqi can change a person's mindset. There is still much that I can learn, thank you guys.

Thanks guys, you owe it to no one but yourself. I thank you for listening to me rather than those who told you otherwise. There is no guarantee of success in life, you made your own dreams come true.

I really miss AP too, i hope that he is doing well.

maple clinic look for dr. ong fung chin. be prepared to queue for ridiculous # of hours. there was a time I went before 6pm saw her only at a sliver before 12am. even worse then causeway on a very very bad day...
\disclaimer: no affiliations nor business interest though i wish i were her...
Hi bro euphony, do you have the address of this Maple Clinic. I plan to bring my wife there this Sat morning.

Thanks for letting everyone know about the Plusmiles card. There is actually a version of the TNG card that can be topped up online (with Quik2go) or auto reloaded. http://www.touchngo.com.my/?pg=products&subPg=zingcard_faq

Yes, its definitely heavier by at least a few kg but my cars are quite fuel efficient(one runs on diesel)

I tend to have these as insurance as i have trained my wife in these, last thing i want is i am away in other countries and she gets stuck somewhere because of a small issue. Hence i give her all the numbers to call that i can think of and religiously look after the innards and tyres of the cars.
My wife just needs to drive thats all.

Proactive maintenance and every car always has a full gas tank at all times. I think i would have made my MT sarge proud except that i would not waste my time washing vehicles. Some of the stuff will pay for itself over time as they either lengthen certain component life or give the car an emegency boost should it be required. I normally don't carry the heavy stuff in light vehicles, only the heavier ones has everything including tow ropes as they have the power to do it. Spare tyre checks are important but i have friends who dropped the spare once they have those "Fixaflat" (can of gas based repair kit) or the tyre repair kit (to save on dead weight)

There are quite a few pharmacies that have opened nearby that do have pretty good meds but there is one nearby in Bukit Indah:
Klinik Suzana No.38 Jalan Indah 1, Bukit Indah, Johore

There is also a "Xiang Xin Zhong Yi" run by a couple of Korean doctors who is administering TCM. Not bad as i have some skin issues too. (exposed to too many chemicals during NS hahaha)

She could start by getting rid of clorine in the water by using only filtered water for washing and drinking. Lots of such products in those HomeFix/Self Fix store. Widest selection is the ones in Thomson Plaza or Vivo city. If its her face, etc, get a very light cream and use on the skin and use some type of vasaline cream to prevent loss of moisture. Air con and exposure to long periods in the sun may have to be avoided if its caused by these.
For the Zing card, I didn't like it last time because it will auto-reload for you each time it drops below RM50. But since I travel a lot now and spend more than RM350/month on T&G, it seems like a good idea. Only thing is, there's no rebate if I use the it.

Also, thanks for the advise about the clinic and stuff; the condition is on her hand. It's more than 2 weeks already, and it looks really bad now.

As for diesel car, I have a chance to get the 520d tax free, but I'm considering between E250 and XC60 too... have until end of the year to save money and decide on the car. With all the long distance travel, all the things you listed will be useful, specially those to do with repairing tyres.

So far we tried the pork set with pork soup base,..nice generous portions of veges which i like. we also ordered a few side dishes.
Must try their longan-ginseng tea,...yummy. ya, we ordered before 2pm yesterday, got 30% discount!

enjoy bro.
Bro yonglip, can share the location of this place? Have you tried the Pearl Glow restaurant near HH? The zha zhi is very tasty. I eat there 2-3 times per week; just had assam fish, which was superbly steam, chinese sausage with egg and baby kailan with oyster sauce and 4 plates of rice for RM40, 3 persons eating.

Hi, I dont think Causeway and 2nd link tolls payment will count NOT into the rebates. I have checked before twice and hence I did not apply as I used mostly causeway or 2nd link tolls.
Bro HH, may I know how did you check? I was not able to get my rebates yet because I just bought the new Plusmiles card after CNY. Next month, I will check at the T&G office when I top-up my card again.

Congrats bro Odyssey, how do you feel now? Has your wife come up with the design for the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom?

Sis Crystal, based on the billing from the developer, completion is at 45% now, if I remember correctly. I don't think it will completed by end 2012; best estimation is Q2 2013. But when NI P8A finishes in the next 3-5 months, maybe they will have more workers to complete P8B. My house in P8A is complete, only left the painting, cleaning up and road-tarring to do.

Some news about the public transport in Iskandar.

Dear all, not sure if it has been mentioned previously, but is it possible to drive a Malaysia car past the Malaysian customs at Tuas or Woodlands checkpt, and detour without going through the SG customs? This is to meet the 2 weeks thingy without driving a SG car. Many thanks!

Hi Bro,

I can't find the English version....

Oh Iskandar going to have BTS line by 2015.
3 lines include JB downtown to Sanai, Johor Bahru to Jesco Tebrau and Johor Bahru to Nusajaya Anjung.

One of these three line will be connected to the JB downtown line.

There will be a main bus station and each individual stop so commuter can transfer from express to normal bus.
All the bus route will also be re-planned.

Actually a lot of new things people were asking have actually been tried and tested by myself and many others earlier in this thread.

This is one of them, i did a test for bro LGlab, no issues. 2 weeks thingy? You can stay up to 1 month here if you are using SG passport even without MACS.

Yes its not at Nusa Idaman but nearer to it now as well. Its in between the 2 rows of shophouses at the empty land that was converted for carpark, etc. Its actually an added convenience, looks like its becoming more bustling here. Kept wanting to post this but forgot as too many things going on now. Even saw taxis parked there waiting for those getting off CW3.

Hello Wuqi,
As a Singapore staying in Johore, besides the need to be working in Malaysia, is there other ways that we can own and drive a malaysian car to Singapore? Thanking you in advance.

Mainly unless you have business, etc. Else will be hard. Do like what the ang mohs do, hire a chauffer and drive in and out daily.
I asked one of them what about daily entry issues for Malaysians? They said just bring along an employment letter to say that he
is hired as a driver in Malaysia, etc.

Hi wuqi, do you know if foreigner with house in JB can import vehicle from Sin to Malaysia? (other than the MM2H scheme) Thanks.

No other way that is direct or legal. Have to export out from Sin to other countries (Vietnam) and reimport in. Hefty fees though for importing.
Best option maybe to just buy a car here.

Use some handcream and avoid dishwashing liquid and bleach stuff for clothing for now. I hope that she recovers soon.
