Inconsiderate Behaviour In Public Places

Inconsiderate behaviour in public places seems to be increasing.

Passengers gathering at the entrance/exit of buses or mrt trains, 2 or 3 people occupying 6 or 7 seats at food courts or hawker centres, children running about or adults/children talking loudly in public libraries, people standing about and blocking the way in congested places like shopping malls or train stations, people jumping queue, talking loudly, shouting, digging their noses, etc etc.

The problem seems to be getting worse, not just among foreigners, but also locals who may have decided to join em' if they can't beat em'.

Perhaps it's time to have a Ministar in charge of Etiquette and Considerate Behaviour in Public Places, someone to set out policies, give adviCe and take recalcitrant and incorrigible inconsiderate people to task.
How about Zorro as the guy in charge? Ok, ok, you will say that his spoken English leaves a lot to be desired, but he has a habit of stating the obvious and making motherhood statements, which is perhaps exactly what is needed for this role. He is also possibly the guy with the most available time.

Do you think that inconsiderate behaviour in public places is increasing? What can be done to alleviate this problem?

Once in a while I will take the bus.. And usually I would feel damn pissed off after alighting.. Its bad enough that the Ah Tiongs and Pinoys would be yakking loudly on their mobiles or among themselves, but Sporeans too are following their inconsiderate habits..:( Same goes during my visits to the library.. Parents letting their young kids run loose around the library creating mayhem and so much incovenience to other library visitors.. ..

People not keeping left on the escalators.....

This is unbelievable at mrt stations considering how many signs are placed by the side of the escalators asking people to stand on the left.

But at other places like shopping malls, it's quite common to see people standing on the right, usually foreigners from north asia, China, Taiwan, Korea where it's the etiquette to stand on the right.
Of course, most of these buffoons probably stand on the left back in China.

Spitting, pang phui in public?

Once someone spit right in front of me, and I told him that he would be wiping it off with his shirt if it had landed on me. He was a prc national and probably didn't understand half of what I said, but he could tell I was pissed and walked away quickly.

And about pang phui, an elderly man pang phui a few times loudly and didn't seem to bother. Perhaps he thought nobody would know it was him. I quickly walked away just in case the next one is not phui but sai.

Can't believe no one has mentioned the putting of tissue paper (and sometimes umbrellas) on tables to reserve seats.

Mostly done by women.

Hey, you bitches, why not put your handbags, smartphones instead? I dare you.

Must be written in 10 languages, otherwise some people cannot understand.
