What if TJS, TCB or TKL is our President now?

It's almost 6 months since the Presidential Election, and the PAP proxy President generally has been silent except for the recent noble voluntary pay cut. How touching.

Did any bros here imagine the other 3 candidates as President? What would they be doing now? By the way, are there any peaceful or legals ways to remove our powerless President from power?

Tan Kin Lian - He will be updating his blog on a daily and bitch about the how the foreign dignitaries are not able to understand him, the trees are not providing him enough shade in the Istana, how much paper is wasted in the Istana, how many junk mails are addressed to him, he will call Obama and give him investment advice.

Tan Cheng Bock - He will be strolling the empty grounds of Istana after he evicted the Dragon Prince. He will be on the mini-bus touring Singapore talking to the older folks and any body on the streets; he might tear down Ng Teng Fong Hospital.

Tan Jee Say - The SDP proxy and his SDP team will have tea in the Istana every day, and going through the reserves, and TJS will be having cold war with the PAP government and demanding more Presidential duties than he should, on the basis of moral authority. He will be featured in every issue of SDP's newspaper and the new mascot of the SDP because it is always good to have a prominent alumni. I hear from an ex-Army regular that the President has the power to disband Armed Forces units, this means the SAF will be almost non-existent because units will be disbanded daily. He will then advocate peace talks with neighbours, if they are hostile. Gay marriages will be legalized, while all MIW ministers and civil servants will have to work for free because it is a public duty. Public protests will be allowed and any school field will be gazetted as gathering points.

Tan Jee Say will very quiet and probably won't be seen for the first 6 mths. He is in a state of shock and keeps pinching himself. This is the man who loves dropping names. Suddenly he realises that he does not need to drop names and therefore is lost.

Tan Cheng Bock is in the midst of a constitutional crisis over the removal of old man from the Istana grounds. Nothing much is being done until the impasse is removed.

lol funny post. since the president was elected, maybe referendum alto that would be too "troublesome". simpler would be the legislative to have a vote of no-confidence, since the legislative or parliament were voted in and therefore representative of the people. spore constitution chapter 5 article 22l talks of removal of president from office.

Oh yes. I forgot about TKL's high 5. I think TKL may commit many gaffes, like how Silvio Berlusconi always does and TKL might turn Singapore into a living joke, while TKL may just laugh it off, like what you said, he enjoys the attention.

TJS still has to drop names - Woody Goh. He has to thank Woody Goh and make references to him. TJS will get to enjoy the summoning of Woody Goh.
Probably TJS will need some good TCB's advice.

Frankly the best choice I still feel for the choice of President is still TCB. But TCB's strong headed stance & stubborn views might not gell well with the younger generation.

TCB was the only candidate with an Apple application opening to his Facebook. He also had a group of people who did some graphical stuff and publicity ideas for him. Looking at the things produced these were to all likelihood very young people and I understand he gave them a lot of autonomy. He was able to attract these people against the odds that he was the least in the news and least known to the younger generation. TT was DPM before and had the support of MSM. TJS had strong exposure during GE2011 and TKL profited from the mini bond publicity.

Don't play play. Goh Meng Seng is now Chief of TOC Chinese team. He has another venue to vent about PAP's mistakes, WP's incompetency and air his views on his perceived mistakes of Lee Kuan Yew. TCB holds strongly to the values which he believes in, such as his stance on NMPs. TCB took good care of the volunteers around him, and good words will spread - you win the young volunteer's heart (He has paid insurance coverage for his volunteers.) , the volunteers will do their best on their part as what they believe in the possible alteration of Singapore's political history.

TJS will be repeatedly commenting on public policy, putting his tongue and toes into every issue despite repeated assertions by the govt he cannot do so. Media will have a field day playing up the idea that a constitutional crisis in brewing and Singaporeans made a disastrous choice. "Look at what you have done, you fucking assholes" will be uttered nearly verbatim by all PAP cabinet ministers, and in one rare instance, actually verbatim. TJS will say it is his rightful role as president and that as prez he represents the hopes & aspirations of all citizens. He says that nothing in the constitution fucking prevents him from doing whatever he fucking likes to do as he is the fucking prez, above all fucking written rules and fucking above everyone. The entire govt is mobilized to counter him. Scholars, lawyers, civil servants of all stripes and colours are roped in, co-opted, and speak unanimously against the "atrocity that the illegitimate president is perpetrating". Eugene Tan is called into special duty, put on 24hr alert. Sumiko is forced at gunpoint to quit SBF and is also roped in, on penalty of having the actual size of her melons disclosed. SDP breaks into its old ways and stages a demonstration again at Parliament House. After arrests are made, TJS turns up in person to bail them. The flag at Cantonment Complex flies at half mast the next morning.

TCB will become personal most hated enemy of the old man after the exercise bicycle has been carted away. At first all seems calm. TCB seems to play it cool, no surprise moves, no sudden rhetoric, everything by the book. The PAP slowly start to assume that maybe its not as bad as they thought it would be. At the same time, he begins community programmes, reaching out, having dialogues, and not just speaking to people on the street, but actually taking notes, listening, thinking. PAP monitors closely and remain wary. TCB wants to speak out on key issues like floods, MRT and minister pay, but the cabinet muzzles him. After several months of stalemate, TCB finally makes known his mettle. When he does, he has an army of supporters carefully groomed after months of groundwork. PAP flounders, seemingly unable to figure out what to do with a patient, steady, yet amazingly tenacious gentleman who obviously knows the politics of the land.

After TKL becomes president, the milky way galaxy collides with Andromeda and all life in this sector of the universe is destroyed. The reason is because TKL can only become president in a crazy alternate universe whether the rules of physics make no sense.

TJS promised 50% of his salary to donations & foundations for the benefit of pure local born & raised sgporeans. besides, he also said that 500k p.a. is already alot for himself & family... which means, even with the pay cut, he can still afford to continue donating for the benefit of sgporeans.

TKL promised a portion of this salary for charitable works, also for the benefit of sgporeans - although he will still come across as hallucination "bcos many ppl say/ many ppl tell him". perhaps the new financial center would shift to istana to consult his expertise on investments & wealth management.

TCB will probably be happily sipping kopi with his constituents in the west. after booting pinkie & gang out of the istana, he has the whole 9hole golf course to himself. he may even convert the 9hole golf course to become futsal pitches, organize futsal tournaments to bridge racial harmoany.

TT after 6mths, now quickly volunteer a stated paycut, for fear that the committee may suggest a greater cut to his pay. everyday walk around istana compound remembering the biological names of the plants.
