Orchard Flood-PAP NO APOLOGY, NO COMPENSATION, NO SHAME

After reading so many reports of govt. officials, I have discern 3 missing important ingredients.

1) NO APOLOGY FROM ANYONE WHATSOEVER-Khoo Teng Chye, CEO PUB. No apology whatsoever. Khoo, u asshole, we don't care to hear about how much money you spend over the years on the infrastructure, or how you were caught with your pants down. How about an apology to the citizens that were half drowned in the flood and the businesses that lost money? How about a simple thing like that just to show u have some soul and compassion? Not one govt. official has come out and say that it was their fault and the blame rests with them. Not even one official has come out and apologised to the people. Its a miracle that no one was drowned or injured in this. Even Obama apologised and took responsibility for BP. But Old Goat and his lackeys are bigger than Obama? What a joke.

2) Compensation - Now that we have heard ad nausem about the causes, lets hear what u are going to do for the victims. Where is the fund to compensate the merchants for their lost business? Where are the compensation for people who were late or never showed up for work and lost pay that day?

3) What are they going to do to fix it - There is no talk whatsoever about how they will rectify this. All they say is they spend billions on canals, culverts, drains,e tc. Great, why did it flood than. Debris? Well what the fuck are u going to do about it? What is your contingency plan? What is your prevention and proactive plan? Is it too difficult to look at the weather forecast and send people to check the culverts before heavy rainfall is expected? This is what the public wants to hear.

This govt. is too arrogant, everyone can see it. MPs are more worried about YOG tourists getting flooded than sinkies. People need to remember this in the next elections.

A sincere apologymight help their PR image mah. Most people here would not buy it, but some sucker voters will sure do that. In any case, I am asking for an apology followed by resignation.

Got...yday sunday papers, they blamed the Canal when there is no Canal nearby. They should blame the drains that are non existence instead of the big Canal that never DID misfunction.

They don't even need to build more canals and drains, they just need to clean the ones they already have, and do it on a regular basis. Not once every 3 or 6 months.

In fact many people do not vote for them. It is entirely possible the oppo won 10 seats in the last election. But how would sinkie land know this? There are claims by oppos of ballot stuffing in the last election as well instances where there were more ballots than registered voters, and not to mention unescorted ballots going to the counting station. In one narrowly contested constituency, the oppo said there was a last minute arrival of a ballot box that was filled with 90% PAP votes, and that swung the results to the PAP. GMS might be able to enlighten us on this, as this is what I read in other websites. My point is that even if the oppo legitimately won, but the PAP don't accept the results what can u do in this dictatorship? File lawsuit and go to court? SUre lose. Expectthe press to give you time and space to air your views? Not likely. With the PAP controlling the press, u may never know if that riding was really won by the oppo or not.
