Embassy car in hit-and-run

Their Russian's comrade did it!

Romanian-Russian relations are the foreign relations between Romania and Russia. Romania has an embassy in Moscow and 2 consulate-general (in Rostov-on-Don and Saint Petersburg). Russia has an embassy in Bucharest and a consulate-general in Constanţa. Historical relations have oscillated between grudging cooperation, neutrality and open hatred and hostility.

Both countries refused to recognize Kosovo's independence from Serbia and strongly supported it's territorial integrity (although, the Romanian stance on Kosovo has much less to do with Kosovo than it has to do with supporting Moldova's stance on Transnistria). About 30,000 Russians live in Romania, mainly in the Tulcea County (see Lipovans). About 5,308 Romanians live in Russia, mainly in the Russian Far East. Both countries are full members of the Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

how is this going to be any different from any other wayang?

of all the cars you want to steal a diplomat car?

romanians are bunch of lousy liars..

Very likely an ah beng or mat working in the embassy itself who "borrowed" the car to show off to his lian/minah.

A CAR believed to be from a foreign embassy was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Bukit Panjang Road early on Tuesday, hitting three people at two different traffic junctions.

Police said that the car first hit two pedestrians who were crossing the junction of Bukit Panjang Road and Bangkit Road at about 3am.

Mr Tong Kok Wai, 30, and Mr Bong Hwee Haw, 24, suffered head injuries and were taken to the National University Hospital (NUH). Mr Tong is in the intensive care unit while Mr Bong is in a surgical high dependency ward.

Instead of stopping, the car continued on its path of destruction. Witnesses said it beat another red light 100m ahead at the cross-junction of Bukit Panjang Road and Pending Road.

There, it hit another pedestrian, Mr Muhamad Haris Abu Talib, 18, before speeding off.

Mr Haris was also taken to NUH with leg pain.

Really, no puns of offense but we feel the embassy car really hit the wrong people.

It should have hit hard at a few Nationalist traitors and their dog who crawled all the way to live there and leech off this country as rumored by our Chinese friends.

Singapore does not grant Diplomatic Immunity to CD cars, unless of course it belongs to big brother the YU ASS A.

That area is a cheap area of S'pore. So for embaasy people to live around there should be from 3rd world countries. Also some Koreans CD cars are frequently seen there. Maybe one of their children took it out for a spin.

The eyewitness should publish out the car number plate for all to see in case there is some cover up.

So from your reasoning beggars and pseudo-rich foreign parasites congregate there with their embassies it seems.

Diplomatic Immunity is extended to all embassy accreditated staff and families including footman, security guards etc. They are the their nationals and the status is very clear and formal before they take on the role to avoid ambiguity.

The power to lift it resides with that country. As a general pratice, the immunity is seldom lifted but victims are usually compensated. This is to avoid peer group pressure when the ambassdor is attending the cocktail circuit and for image purposes.

During the Michael Fay vandalism incident, one of the culprit was the son of Thailand's Military attache who was covered by diplomatic immunity. The father was an honourable man and readily agreed to have his son interviewed by the Police, which he is not obliged to. He walloped his son in front of the Investigating Officer for not cooperating. At the end, he apologised that the Thai Foreign Ministry did not agree to lift the immunity.

Diplomatic immunity is only afforded to heads of state dumbass. Not staff and family of embassies

Gombak is very near to Bukit Panjang.

Assuming the diplomat/s was/were involved in the accidents directly, I asked the following questions:-
1) What were they doing at that point of time?
2) Were they being followed?
3) Were they on some mission or secret project near Gombak?
4) Were they drunk-driving?
5) Did they take a cab after abandoning the car at Sungei Kadut?
6) Did any taxi driver on night shift pick up some romanian/s at Sungei Kadut?
7) Did the Romanians report the loss/theft of vehicle personally at the police post/station or reported from the embassy?
8) Were the Romanians smelt heavily of alcohol if they had visited the NPP or NPC or police station when the report was lodged?
9) Could there be some form of phone call logs with the Mobile Service Providers?
10) Why did the 'fat' guy in the Chinese newspaper reply the following when asked if he was tired after the long interview by the police:- "Today I was too busy to answer to the police to feel tired or sad. But tomorrow I may feel sad." - feel sad coz he knows he may be implicated in the accident?

This is probably the scenario that will evolve.

1) The govt will first request dip immunity to be lifted which is unlikely.
2) The Romanians will however recall them back as punishment and they and their families will lose the diplomatic perks.
3) If the Romanians do not do it, then MFA will treat them as persona no grata and they wil have to leave
4) The families of the victims will notified on what is going on a private basis.
5) The Romanians will pay compensation to the victims on a confidential basis.

I think before they become persona no grata, they ought to be kicked, beaten, blanket partied and blind-folded by protesters first.

I believe most of them are Full-Time Big Liars!!!

Lie without blinking eyes!!!

Lie without looking side way!!!

Foreigners are losing the wariness of a "No nonsense will be accepted here in Singapore" reputation. And only the dumb and apathetic people does not know the reason why it has become so. A matter of time before we have to add the tag of being a dangerous place to live in.

Thats not Diplomatic Immunity. Diplomatic Immunity protects a person from criminal charges.

Yes, please read again. They did not charge the military attache's son in court for the criminal offence of vandalism which carries mandatory canning while the rest of his friends and Micheal Fay was charged because the Thais did not lift the immunity. The son is a student. The son is not even a staff let alone the ambassador. His father is only a staff of the Thai Embassy.

Get the picture?

What does Fay and the other offenders have got to do with the thai lifting diplomatic immunity or not? We do not know if the thai son was diplomatically immune or the prosecutor just decided not to charge him.
Vandalism DOES NOT carry a mandatory canning sentence.
