Realistic to expect 30k daily at Universal Studios?

"Resorts World hopes to attract some 13 million visitors next year, with 30,000 daily just for Universal Studios."

Sounds too optimistic to me...

Should use the word 'aspire' which was endorsed by LKY.

Didn't know that every we say the pledge for the last 40+ years is just an aspiration until he clarifies it.

Expect the Familee to force GLSees, NSmen and students to go there on 'familee days' and 'educational trips' to make this happen!

Even in dreams such hopes will never happen, 30,000 daily....dont even think about it. Where will these visitors be coming from??? Even if they dole out discounts and free lodging the most they will be looking at best is 30% if not lower.:p

I think 30K is entirely possible. Just imagine all the families from Malaysia and indonesia that do not have the time nor can afford to fly out of the region.

Family of 4 - 2 nights in Singapore $300 hotel (cheap hotel), $40 x 4 ($160) tickets, food for 3 days $200, parking ERP etc $50. All in all $700 to $1000for 3 days 2 nights - can walk around casinos, window shop for the wife and highlight of trip is Universal Studios. I think it is very affordable.

Big question is the impact of the heat, rain and humidity on the whole park experience.

The whole place needs to be enclosed in a giant dome and aircon 24x7.

The singapore zoo is also another theme park. Instead of hollywood characters, they feature animals. What's so special?

In order to be number one, you got to innovate. Hey phillip yeo, can your billion dollar a*star phds make an animal with the body of a lioness with a tail that ends in a snake's head, the head of a goat arose on her back at the center of her spine?

I would gladly pay $200 to see it running and jumping around.

If Universal is expecting 30K people daily, that means 7,500 rooms (based on family of 4) is needed to cater. This also means major hotels with 500rooms & above will benefit directly with this tourists influx. Then comes the other filter attractions like the night safari, Bird park & orchard area.

I think for the 1st 2 years, Spore will boomz & in a good way, too.

HK said the something similar about HK Disneyland when they started building it, FYI they didn't hit the target either. I seriously expect the same to happen here

average daily 30k is possible...it will be a "must go" place for tourist...just like disney sea in tokyo and universal studios in osaka...plus the 5mil singaporeans plus ft and malaysians...it is possible..fundamentally...the rides must be good...hk disney doesnt work out well coz the rides arent dat exciting...it's mainly a place for kids...

I think they can hit 30k on a good weekend, but weekdays and rainy days will be "fly swatting" days. The crowd problems at Vivo City and causeway will subtract from the experience and deter some from going. The tickets prices are pretty steep; if the economy tanks as projected, there will be lean years until 2012. That's why LV is taking their own sweet time.

If they can get 10 millions that already very good. But I expected only half of the target.

May appear on the high side. But remember, we have 10 million visitors every year - with IR and casinos - there will definitely be an increase in visitors. And don't forget, the thousands of Bangladeshi, Chinese, Thais, Filipinos who have their day off on Sunday. They will thong the place - may be Serangoon, Lucky Plaza and Beach Road may become empty.

With Casinos it may be different. Genting is so high up the mountain, yet people travel up all the way. Some even fly to Australia to gamble. Some big time gamblers, lose a night wager what they can pay their employees the whole year.
