Eventually the PAP will put a stop to it. EP pass holders nowadays not getting approved is step 1, enough citizens have complained so we can expect fewer tiongs now in Singapore.

Mai gong lah. Many already pink IC. They don’t admit to be 中国人 but 新移民。rather reply in broken English than use mandarin.

For a nation without a proper airforce and a puny artillery capability compare to the mighty US army, this lousy and ragtag military manage to push the US army to “attack in a different direction” from chosin reservoir back to the 38th line. In fact in the 2 years of fighting, they managed to hold their own against the mighty US military.
The effects of korea war badly scared the USA that they dare not launch ground attack the north Vietnam in fear of another people volunteers army crossing into north Vietnam despite it was the height of the culture revolution in CCP.

The US Army was mighty in 1950? I too think you need a history lesson.

And for the record it was 30K US people dead for several hundred thousand Chinese dead.

Millions of koreans dead in the process

so ragtag got their asses kicked in

Make up your mind. Your previous posts wrote US just won WW2, so their military not mighty?
Deaths count don’t decide who win who lose. It objectives achieved that count. US casualty not even 10% of Vietnam casualties yet everyone know Vietnam won.

i dunno why u guys are so obssessed with military.........u know none of the superpowers will ever go to war with each other right..........in what universe would any country go to war just to prove its superiority?

world war 2 is fought for oil.....

the ultimate war is economic and japan has already been permanently crippled by USA........and china is slowly and inevitably winning the game bit by bit behind the scenes......

in 1980,world trade was dominated by USA.......the biggest trading partner of the world was overwhelmingly USA......today half the world is dominated by china both import and export wise.....

Yes, US Won WWII because of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. War was stalemate until nuke 1945. Did US Attack Japan or did Japan attack US?

Fact is the US in 1950 was not a superpower. Military was not that powerful then. UK was still the military power in 1950, not the US> US had to kowtow to UK over military matters until 2nd term of US President Eisenhower.

Your claim of "massive superpower with huge military in 1950" is ridiculous. US in 1950 did not want to be the superpower nor care to be the superpower. go look at history and understand. US did not reach superpower status until years later.

And the results for Korean war show many many more chinese deaths ratio is 1 US to 10 chinese. and nothing?

after midway, war was a stalemate 1943. Neither side was winning. 1944, US inched closer to Japan. 1945 US wanted to end war quickly and send a message to Russia.

1945 bomb tested and dropped. War over.

end the war quickly?where was japan going to go?they had no oil and no resources......no metal to rebuild if they wanted to,stuck on an island, their navy was crippled.......there was no rush to go anywhere, the japs couldnt do anything if they wanted to.........so why the nuke?the russians have always been the critical factor.....

the russians were at japans doorsteps......they took manchuria in barely two months and demolished the 1 million japanese kwungtung army........all that nonsense about losing half a million US life was just that nonsense.......it would have been a cakewalk for russia after their experience at stalingrad and kursk and leningrad........civilians putting up a resistance?lol.........

to be honest US's army was never really tested the way stalin's forces were........those skirmishes on jap islands were nothing compared to the battles on the eastern european front......8 million russians fought against 3.4 million germans in 1942 to 1943...........compared to normandy where USA and allies landed barely 200k soldiers in france......

From pearl harbor to Japan surrendered, US built 101 aircraft carriers, 300000 combat aircrafts of all types and have millions of men under arms. In what ways US need to kowtow to the British? Btw, in only in Tony Blair era did UK finally repaid the money UK own to US during the war.

also people keep talking about USA defeating japan and winning wwii.......japan was a joke.......their military strength and firepower and technology was nowhere near the western powers......particularly germany and russia.........some estimated japan's capability to be 1/10th of that of the germans........they had a decent navy and aircraft carriers thats about it.......their army and air force was vastly inadequate.....

Why did Japan start the war? for resources. The Yen bloc. you might want to review where these resources came from.

US wanted to end the war to save US lives. They did not start the war they wanted to end it and they did.

US Military was never tested? Are you being serious here?

https://www.history.com/this-day-in...ident Harry S.,the Japanese city of Hiroshima.

President Harry S. Truman, warned by some of his advisers that any attempt to invade Japan would result in horrific American casualties, ordered that the new weapon be used to bring the war to a speedy end.

By 1945 the total was 101, of course some were small carriers. they even lease some to the British. Go google.

i did

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unite...By war's end in 1945,of 1,000 tons or greater.

By war's end in 1945, the United States Navy had added nearly 1,200 major combatant ships, including twenty-seven aircraft carriers, eight "fast" battleships, and ten prewar "old" battleships[6] totaling over 70% of the world's total numbers and total tonnage of naval vessels of 1,000 tons or greater.[7][8]

whats the point of building all those aircraft carriers and combat aircrafts........nobody ever talked about how great US's aircraft technology was during wwii........USA land army was a joke just like their air force.......their tanks were pieces of garbage that even russia didnt want when they lent it to them.......

america barely participated in the great land battles of wwii..................except against some yellow chinky slanty eye army that stood no chance against any of the western powers anyway......if it was germany or russia versus japan.......japan would have been defeated by 1940.

this list is more accurate and detailed in terms of type, tonnage, and time of service (including attempt at construction and stoppage).

uh... not wishing to shade the rest of your post, but war was definitely not in stalemate until 1945. The US had effectively already won. It was only a matter of how to end it with minimal loss of life. Personally, as horrific as the nukes were, I'm pretty sure it resulted in far less casualties for both Japs and Yankees. At Okinawa and Iwo Jima, the Japs foreshadowed what conventional warfare would've looked like on the mainland. That's why they went to nukes... Of course, another alternative would just be to firebomb them into submission. But as before, it would have cost more lives and $$$.

I have stories of older Japanese thanking Americans for how they ended the war and how they treated the Japanese afterward. The Japs were not a compassionate race until the Americans showed them how.

It is a historical fact that back before WW2, America was NOT on the list of countries who led the world in technology. Britain was #1.

From various sources I have forgotten, there's a true historical account of what actually brought the US in WW2. Part of the agreement was a surrender of Britain's technologies to the US. You mention the other part. The final settlement of the lend lease act. A guy flew over with a briefcase full of Britain's top technological secrets and surrendered it to the US. That was part of the deal for the US to get involved.

Matter of fact is that the US leveraged WW2 so successfully to advance their technological and financial progress, that they developed a taste for it till this day. Anytime they need to prop up their economy a war starts.

What the US brought to the table that really turned the war in the Allies favour was manufacturing output and to some extent labour supply. They could outproduce anybody. They could not out tech anybody at the start.
